Two Pounds in One Week

As days go by, I have observed that losing weight becomes harder and harder. If before, I could lose two pounds overnight, now I can only do the same in a span of one week. It really seems that as we age, our metabolism slows down to a very depressing pace. And if you’re like me who live a sedentary life, the more you should expect it to happen naturally. What I do to maximize my weight loss is help my metabolism do its thing faster thru natural means such as drinking more water and adding more fiber in my diet.

this little surprise made my day!

You could imagine my happiness when I came home two days ago and found this package waiting for me. It’s C-Lium fibre and some A!Life products that help one’s posture and guess what, weight loss capabilities! It’s just what I need! As you know, I need all the help I can get to continue with my weight loss journey. It seems I don’t have to buy appetite suppressants yet. These should do for now and perhaps if they’re effective, I’ll stick to them for good. Haha.

My Affinity for Asian Cuisines

I just came from a dinner with friends at Crustasia located inside Powerplant Mall in Rockwell, Makati. It was a heavy dinner and I got too full after. Perhaps, it’s the reason why I’m still awake at this odd hour. Our host ordered a lot of food and we just couldn’t stop eating because everything tasted good. The restaurant, by the way, specializes in three Asian cuisines: Indonesian, Thai, and Chinese.

My affinity for Asian cuisines started fairly recently. I just found out one day that there are some Asian dishes that I enjoy eating, crave for regularly and wanna learn to cook at home. These dishes include Bibimbap, Katsudon, Pad Thai, Siomai, Chicken Curry, Dumplings, Tom Yum Soup, California Maki, Wanton Noodle Soup, Hainanese Chicken Rice, and Yang Chow Fried Rice, among others. What I love about Asian cuisines are its diversity, great tastes, familiar flavors, uniqueness, and innovativeness. It’s funny but whenever the fiancee and I would dine out, I’d always ask him to eat at an Asian-themed restaurant serving some or most of these food.

It’s His Birthday!

Remember when I said October was such a heavy month for us when it came to celebrations? I wasn’t kidding. In fact, the celebration has officially begun. It’s the fiancĂ©’s birthday today! I wanted to be the first to greet him a happy birthday so I stayed in his room until midnight. We were both tinkering with our laptops and minding our own businesses but when the clock struck 12, I just had to stop to greet him and give him hugs and kisses. Haha.

I can’t believe he’s 32 already (he’s four years my senior). How time flies! I’m happy to know that as he ages, his level of maturity and his sense of responsibility improve, too. He’s been such a loving, caring, nurturing, sweet, kind and patient fiancĂ© to me. I really can’t ask for more. In our relationship, he’s the giver and I’m the taker most of the time. I guess it’s because of our age gap. Nonetheless, we get along very well and we love each other’s families. No counting of shortcomings and misgivings, just sharing pure and faithful love.

My Wait for Christmas Bonus Starts Now

Catching a glimpse of my wallet this morning, thoughts of receiving Christmas bonuses from various sources flooded my mind. At work, we normally get our 13th month pay in November and the extra bonus in December, a few days before Christmas. I’m happy to know that this year, I’m not the only one receiving a bonus in our family. My brother D, who works as a teacher in a private Chinese school, is getting his share, too!

Have you started shopping for Christmas presents? Me, not yet. But I think I might join my brother in going to Divisoria soon to shop at the popular night market there. I miss shopping with him. Unlike other guys that dread shopping places, my brother enjoys shopping as much as I do. Shopping is actually a great bonding activity for us.

Weight Loss Update: Happy at 130!

It’s been two months and 19 days since I started my new weight loss journey and I’m happy to report that I have already lost 8 lbs. It’s a slow but sure progress and I wouldn’t ask for it any other way. Currently, I weigh 130 lbs. This is a big achievement for me because I really wanna reach my ideal weight of 115 lbs. before the year ends.

Don’t ask me about my dietary habits because I don’t follow a particular diet plan. I just watch and record what I eat. I don’t even have the time or the drive to exercise. I live a sedentary life. As an office girl, I sit in front of the computer all throughout the day. But if you’re really insistent, I’d like to recommend the Ketogenic diet as I wanna try it soon. I heard even those with Sous Chef Jobs that have the tendency to overeat because they’re always in front of food lose weight with the help of this diet plan. Just google it to find out how it really works.

Back to Normal

Back to normal, I’d like to think that’s the state of things today. Yesterday was chaotic. Typhoon Pedring (international name: Nesat) battered Manila and several provinces with gusty winds and rainfall. It was actually more wind than rain. I swear, I could hear the whistles and howls of the winds from our windows. It was scary. It didn’t help that we had no power the entire day. It was a good thing work and classes were suspended.

I was at home with my two siblings all day. My mom, dad and sister N braved the typhoon and joined a few relatives in going to the wake of my aunt in Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija. They planned to attend the last night of her wake and the burial service scheduled this morning. They arrived in the town last night, but not before getting stranded at a zig-zaggy road leading to my aunt’s house. The water from the river went above the bridge they were about to cross. They had to wait for a few hours for the flood waters to subside. I kept calling my mom to check on their well-being and I was extremely relieved when I got a text from her informing that they finally reached their destination.
