When Sickness Attacks

Bad weather and stressed-out body are a sure formula for sickness. The hubby caught a flu last week and hasn’t fully recovered yet until today. I dunno with you but I get paranoid big time whenever someone dear to me gets sick. I want the pain to end as early as possible. If only sickness goes away as fast as a speeding bullet, no one would be seen worrying about a sick loved one anymore.

That’s why I keep reiterating the importance of good health in our household. In these modern times when healthcare costs a fortune, we cannot afford to get sick. Especially when it is the Christmas season where people should be merry and not sulking in the corner or confined in a room (the hospital for that matter) because of sickness.

Home Design Ideas

You can tag me as a lazy girl (I actually am most of the time) but if there’s one thing I’d get asked to do which I won’t get tired of doing, it’s decorating a house. This is especially true if it’s my house we’re talking about. If I had money to spare, I want to fill my house with beautiful and fine things. I believe a house becomes a home not only because of the people that consider themselves as family living in it but also when it is lovely and lively.

Beautiful and fine things aren’t always expensive. Sometimes you just have to be creative with your home design ideas to make things look more appealing than they already are. The addition of fresh flowers in a room or the installation of some waverly curtains to the windows, for instance, are great home design ideas. They don’t cost an arm and a leg yet they help achieve a cozy feel and an elegant vibe to a house.

The Joy of Gift Wrapping

While opening presents gives me a sense of gratitude and fulfillment, I find joy in gift-wrapping and see it as a fun-filled activity. It all starts with buying the gift items. Then you choose the perfect wrappers and ribbons for them. Just the thought of gift-wrapping is enough to excite me and give me a sense of joy.

This Christmas, I prefer doing all the gift-wrapping again. I only have a few gifts to wrap but I’ll make sure they’d be beautifully-made. I’m kinda meticulous when it comes to these things. Hopefully, I find enough time to do it before I run out of gift and gift-wrapping ideas. Haha.

Christmas Money

Are you the kind who allot a particular amount of money for Christmas? I am. And I do this for other special occasions as well. This Christmas, I’m relying on the bonuses I am expecting to receive at work. Hopefully, our employer gives it on time for me to be able to shop gifts for my loved ones. I can’t wait.

I actually have a list in my head. I have already bought some items on it while the others I have yet to acquire. I also have some things that I want for the house. It’s like giving our house the Christmas gifts it deserves. These include new towels and bed sheets, new set of plates and some cushion for chair (just because the removable cushion of our dining chairs are already out of shape!).

Decorating for Christmas 2012

Ours may be the only house in the Philippines with not a single sign of the coming Christmas season yet. Our Christmas decors are still wrapped up upstairs and waiting to be reassembled. I dunno, I must just be plain busy or crazy lazy for not acting on them at this point.

Christmas has always been a happy occasion for me. But this Christmas will be a bit different. I will be celebrating it with the hubby for the first time with us as a married couple. I will surely miss having the traditional Noche Buena with my family. We can’t just make plans because it’s a must that we celebrate both Christmas and New Year in our marital house. It’s our first year in this home, after all.

Time to Go Out

So it seems I can now go out and have fun. Or so I’ve been told by the hubby. We’re meeting up with a friend tomorrow night and I’m taking advantage of this opportunity to unwind even just for a few hours.

You see, I’ve been stuck at home recovering from a surgery for weeks now. I’ve been raring to go out already. When I had a follow-up check up with the doctor last Monday, I specifically asked when I could go out or travel. She said I can already do so but have to be careful with my movements. Cool.
