Weekend Love

I have always loved weekends. It’s the time when I can do so much without really trying. Or do nothing at all. It’s also the time when I can get as much rest as I want without worrying about work. Oh, what bliss weekends bring!

This weekend, in our home, is starting the way I liked it. I woke up late (the hubby always wakes up earlier than I do!) and thought I had the best sleep in days. I made breakfast for the two of us and watched a little TV after. Right now, I’m actually on the verge of taking a nap. Haha.

Last Day of the Year

Today, being the last day of the year, is definitely busy and fun. I can relate to a lot of people, particularly here in Manila, who are having a good time today. There may be lots of preparations, collaborations and reflections but it’s gonna be all worth it because later when midnight strikes, a brand new year arrives.

The hubby’s family is joining us for a simple New Year celebration here at home. I woke up early today because I had a lot of cooking to do. I wonder what I am doing here in front of the PC when in fact I’m only half-way done with my Media Noche menu. Haha. Anyway, I just wanna take a little break before finishing everything off.

No Handy Man

The hubby is no handy man. He doesn’t know how to fix a leaking faucet, repair a broken chair, re-paint a room and the likes. I think he won’t be a handy man in the coming years. Or perhaps not in this lifetime. Haha. But I love him still.

I can rely on the hubby when it comes to electronic gadgets and some household chores but not when it comes to “fix-up tasks” at home. But the things he can’t do, his father definitely can. (I wonder why he didn’t inherit his father’s skills!) Ooops, speaking of my FIL, I think the maintenance tools and supplies at www.reidsupply.com are a great gift for his birthday next year.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas has finally arrived! I hope you are having a merry one. The hubby and I joined my family for Noche Buena last midnight and we just got back home from my parents’ place this morning.

On our way home, we saw lots of children dressed to the nines ready to pay their godparents a visit for their aguinaldo. I felt happy just looking at them. Oh what joy the Christmas spirit brings!

Laundry Manager

I’m lucky to have a husband who is not ashamed of doing household chores, like most men are. For instance, I’m glad that he enjoys doing the laundry which is on top of my list of most hated things to do. Haha.

The hubby enjoys doing the laundry so much that he is very particular with the detergent powder and fabric conditioner to use. He washes our clothes during the weekend when he has ample time to bond with the washing machine. I hope he continues to be the laundry manager at home for as long as he can.

Kindness Pays Off

For this year’s Christmas, we have decided to use a real tree instead of the traditional one. We were supposed to buy from my officemate who sells various kinds of plants on the side, but it seemed God had a different plan. I was gifted by the same officemate with a Christmas-decorated araucaria which now serves as our official Christmas tree at home.

I was surprised by the sweet gesture so I asked my officemate why he gave me such a beautiful and expensive tree. He said he just wanted to return the favor as I have been good to him ever since he could remember. He reminded me of the times when he needed help (financially and otherwise) and I didn’t hesitate to lend a hand. I replied he didn’t have to do it but thanked him still. His gift came in good timing and was very much appreciated.
