Daily Routine

I guess at some point life becomes routinary, and rather dull. This is especially true if you have lots of time in your hands but you don’t have lots of things to do. Or rather, you have but you just don’t have the energy to do them or the right mood to set things in motion.

With no work to keep me occupied, the past weeks were quite ordinary and almost lifeless to me. As much as I want to go out, I still can’t because of my condition. Recovering from a surgery has its downsides, too many to mention if I may add. I’m literally and figuratively confined in the four corners of the house.

Pregnancy Memories

The whole idea of pregnancy never fails to amaze me. Definitely, it’s one miracle that only God can produce and only women like me can experience. I feel so lucky just thinking about it.

When I got pregnant for the first time early this year, I couldn’t believe it. I remember I even thought it was impossible because I had this feeling I was infertile or something. But I did get pregnant, though it ended miserably with us losing our first baby.

Life after Surgery

Having undergone a major abdominal surgery is no easy feat. I really admire those who have recovered from it (or any other major surgery for that matter) without getting a little depressed or something.

Your body after a surgery is way different from the old body one used to have. Speaking from experience, I feel like my physical movements are now limited and the activities I can do seems numbered as well.

Road to Recovery

Recovering from a c-section takes a long time, but it can be done. After spending three long and tiring days in the hospital, I was finally allowed to go home.

Looking back, I thought I couldn’t do it. But when you’re left with no other choice, you risk everything and just go on. I’m just really grateful to God that the surgery was uneventful.

Weather, Weekend and a New Week

Last weekend was quite terrible, if you’d only base it on the weather. But the weather is beyond anyone’s control, and we can only do so much to protect ourselves from its scheming ways. I’ve always told myself to not let the bad weather dampen my spirits, and I think I’ve succeeded in making the past weekend productive for me despite the not-so-cooperative weather.

But just like the weather, there are other things that are really beyond our control. Like when we were not able to attend a friend’s wedding last Saturday due to the reported flooding in some areas in Manila because of the non-stop rains. Actually, the rains continued pouring until Sunday afternoon, which was definitely not a good thing for a lot of people, especially those living in low-lying areas in the metro.

Excited

It’s only September but my mind is already wandering around October and November and of course, December, because of Christmas. You can say I’m just excited. October is when most birthdays are celebrated in our family (mine, my sister’s and my dad’s). November is gonna be the birth month of our baby which will definitely make it all the more exciting and fun. And December, as usual, will be about gift-giving and merry-making because of the special occasion it brings.

Speaking of giving presents, do you buy custom gift card or just give out cash to your loved ones for them to buy whatever they fancy for Christmas? I prefer doing the latter. It’s easier to do and doesn’t involve a lot of thinking. Haha. Kidding aside, I think it’s very practical to do and more people appreciate this kind of practice.
