DIY Project Update

One of my goals this year is to make and finish at least 10 DIY projects. So far, I’ve completed only three: a pearl-studded top, a denim shorts , and a bunch of hand-made and recycled accessories. 2011 will soon come to a close and I still have seven DIY projects to do. I hope I get to complete them to feel good about my DIY “skill.”

Time is my number one enemy when it comes to my DIY projects. Every day, I am inspired by the many online shops and DIY blogs I visit. I even save pictures of the things I wanna create in my PC so I won’t forget about them. I’ll show some of them in this blog in due time.

Pinoy Blogger Shirts

Here in Manila where the blogging community is a very active one, more and more bloggers are flaunting their blogger identity to the public by wearing blogger shirts that come in various cool designs. Isn’t this t-shirt below cute?

This shirt is part of the blogger shirts collection sold at BloggerShirts.com, a shop owned and operated by fellow Pinoy blogger Fitz Villafuerte. It’s priced at P270 and I think I’d like to have one soon. In the exact, same color and graphic print. The Pinoy Blogger text along with the sun and stars design is calling out to me. Actually, there is a black version of this shirt designed for ladies. And it looks nice, too.

Praying for Good Weather

My friends and I will be going out-of-country this weekend. As early as last year, I’ve started praying for a good weather. A canceled flight is the last thing we’d want to experience in this trip. Just thinking about the possibility makes me wanna cry already.

Two weeks ago, when typhoon Pedring (international name Nesat) battered the Philippines with heavy rainfall and gusty winds, the damages it brought to our people still linger. Last weekend during out trip to the province, we passed by towns who were still submerged in flood waters. What a miserable sight it was! I became sad for a while and at one point, I even thought about the use of an industrial rubber hose to suction flood waters and discharge it back to the sea. Shallow idea, I know. My point is, these towns and the people living in them, need help and that help should arrive soon, and in big packages.

Some Thoughts on Foot Care

If there’s one part of my body that gets neglected the most, it would be my feet. I’m one of those girls who weren’t born with a pair of beautiful feet. To be honest, I have wide and ugly feet. It’s the kind that could really turn off a person at first sight. I have always believed that I have ugly feet and that’s the reason why I don’t take extra effort to care for them.

Actually, my “foot care” is limited to washing my feet to keep them clean and smell-free. Yes, it’s as basic as that. I don’t even get a regular pedicure. That should give you an idea of how unattractive my feet are (pedicured or not) and how I get conscious every time I’m showing off my feet (my toes, specifically) or just a glimpse of it in public.

Back in the City

We just got back from the province after attending the burial ceremonies for my deceased aunt. We had a cheerful and safe trip. Our travel time was cut short because my uncle who served as our driver was quite familiar with the roads in Nueva Ecija. It was raining most of the time during our travel and throughout our overnight stay in Muñoz City but it didn’t bother us at all because we brought umbrellas with us.

As expected, it became a mini-reunion for all of us. I was happy to see my seven girl cousins again. I was surprised to find out they’re all married already. And with kids to boot. When it was their turn to ask updates about me, the predominant question was, “when are you getting married?” To which my constant reply was, “next year.” We also took the time and effort to take plenty of pictures using our respective canon slr cameras. I’m happy to have learned thru our group photos that I’m no longer the fattest among us. It only means two things: either I really lost weight or it’s just that their waist continue to expand because they have adjusted very well to married life. Haha.

Two Pounds in One Week

As days go by, I have observed that losing weight becomes harder and harder. If before, I could lose two pounds overnight, now I can only do the same in a span of one week. It really seems that as we age, our metabolism slows down to a very depressing pace. And if you’re like me who live a sedentary life, the more you should expect it to happen naturally. What I do to maximize my weight loss is help my metabolism do its thing faster thru natural means such as drinking more water and adding more fiber in my diet.

this little surprise made my day!

You could imagine my happiness when I came home two days ago and found this package waiting for me. It’s C-Lium fibre and some A!Life products that help one’s posture and guess what, weight loss capabilities! It’s just what I need! As you know, I need all the help I can get to continue with my weight loss journey. It seems I don’t have to buy appetite suppressants yet. These should do for now and perhaps if they’re effective, I’ll stick to them for good. Haha.
