Not the High-Heels Kind of Girl

I don’t think I’m a high-heels kind of girl. For work, I wear mostly flat shoes. I wear heels only when I feel like it (which is seldom). Or when we have an event and it’s required that we wear a dress or a gown that pairs well with heels. But then, I can’t say I abhor heels because the truth is, I love them.

It’s ironic how I continue to buy high-heeled shoes whenever I chance upon a pair that looks nice and comes in a friendly price. Yet I don’t wear them on a regular basis. I just know I can’t sacrifice comfort over style so I choose flats most of the time. While it’s true that wearing heels makes you feel sexier and chicer and gives you more confidence, I easily get lazy wearing heels because I feel that it requires so much effort on my part, if you know what I mean.

On Grocery Shopping

I was at the supermarket last Saturday to do some grocery shopping. I had only a few items in mind but I ended up getting more. I usually have a to-buy list kept in my phone but every time, there are items not in the list that get thrown in my grocery cart. Talk about impulsive shopping. Haha.

I knew I had a budget to stick to but as what has been the case in the past, the impulsive shopper in me won again. I justified it by telling myself that all I bought were useful items and not just unnecessary stuff. They would serve their purpose sooner or later. But don’t get me wrong. I still put a limit to my grocery shopping. If I have a budget of P2,000, for instance, I only overspend by 25% to 30%. Anything beyond that is unacceptable.

New Shoes

While I don’t really go to the mall with the sole intent of buying new shoes, I almost always end up buying a new pair impulsively. I usually justify my purchase by saying to myself that the new shoes I just bought are a good investment. This is especially true if I got the new shoes at a dirt-cheap price or in the style that captured my heart.

Recently, I’ve gotten two new pairs: black peep-toe pumps and beige platforms. Both were purchased impulsively. Haha. I told you, I’m an impulsive shopper like that. But, with valid reasons for buying them (see first paragraph!). I’ve only worn the former once and the latter is still in its box waiting to be used.

S&R Members’ Treat

For this year, the first S&R Members’ Treat happened from March 13 to 17. It was five days full of shopping for goods that were heavily discounted, some of them even on a buy one, take one promo. We got to visit last Friday night at the Aseana-Baclaran branch on our way home to Cavite. With our limited money, we only bought a few items.

As we have expected, the place was jampacked with people and the lines to the cashier were exaggeratedly long. Haha. We did the smart thing by queuing up while we alternately looked for what we wanted to buy. Among the items we took home, this was what I liked best:

Shopping for Bags Online

Instagram (or IG for short) being a social media site is now a venue for online sellers to reach out to a bigger market. I have actually found an online seller there selling stylish but affordable bags.

my three new bags

I followed @iamshopaholicmom at IG and bought three new bags from her ( a tote bag, a satchel and a drawstring). I liked how easy it was to deal with her and the shipping was faster than I had expected. It was also love at first sight when I first laid my eyes on the bags. The quality was superb and the material used (high quality synthetic leather) looked expensive-looking.

Weekend Highlights

Last weekend was a blast. I hope all weekends are like that. So light and fun and happy. All of the things I did was enjoyable and I even got to spend some quality bonding time with my family and the hubby.

On Saturday, I went shopping at my fave department store with my mom and my sister. Landmark Makati never fails to amaze me with its dirt-cheap clothes. Their accessories and bazaar sections are the best. I’ve always found treasures in them.
