Last weekend was simple and ordinary. We were with my in-laws in Bacoor and we spent time together doing things like watching TV, washing the dishes, doing the laundry, chatting, laughing about trivial stuff, and of course, eating. Bonding with my in-laws also included going out to visit the mall and buy stuff and again, eat! I therefore conclude that aside from having much-needed rest and spending time with our loved ones, weekends are for things that do not require much focus and thought. Love it! Haha.
Weekend Story: Office Outing at Pico de Loro, Nasugbu, Batangas
After several postponements due to our crazy hectic sched at work, our office outing/team building/strategic planning workshop has finally pushed thru last weekend. The rainy season has officially begun but what the heck, we hit the beach like it was still summer. It was a good thing that the weather cooperated. The sun would peek through the clouds every now and then but it was predominantly gloomy and it rained just once (more like a quick rain shower!) during our overnight stay at Pico Sands Hotel, one of the structures inside the massive property that is Pico de Loro Beach and Country Club in Nasugbu, Batangas.

Weekend Story: Fiesta in My Hometown (Peñaranda, Nueva Ecija)
Last weekend was fun. It was the hubby’s office outing on Friday and Saturday so I just stayed at my siblings’ place to be with them until the hubby came back from Club Balai Isabel in Talisay, Batangas. On Sunday, the hubby and I, along with Mame and my aunt Yolly, traveled to my hometown of Peñaranda, Nueva Ecija for the annual fiesta celebration there. Mame has a lot of friends there whom she promised to visit one by one. As we had expected, we got stuffed with food. I know it’s not a good idea because I’m trying really hard to lose weight but in the spirit of the fiesta, keri na. At saka ang sarap kaya kumain pag fiesta, hahaha. It was also good seeing our relatives and Mame’s friends again. I wish we could go to the province every last Sunday of May for the said occasion. We’ll see next year.

Weekend Story: Post-Mother’s Day Celebration with Mame
Because the hubby and I were in Bohol when Mother’s Day came, I asked Mame (who dragged my sister Jodie along) to join us for the weekend in Bacoor so I could take her on a date, a post Mother’s Day celebration of sorts. We didn’t do anything grand, we just drove around and dined out at some of Mame’s fave restos (yung mga namiss nya daw kainan!). We reached Bacoor on Saturday afternoon and spent the night there. We then went to Solenad in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna on Sunday morning before going home in Manila that same day. Mame made us laugh a lot again with her unique sense of humor and before we knew it, the weekend was over.

Weekend Story: Bohol 2017 (San Isidro Town Fiesta + Henann Resort)
Last weekend was spent in Bohol for a short vacation. My PILs flew to Bohol ahead of us so when we arrived there, their house in San Isidro (my MIL’s hometown) was spick and span already and we just needed to lie down and rest. We stayed in Bohol for 6D5N and our time was very sulit. We touched base with our relatives and friends there, we joined the festivities (the town fiesta was last May 15th), we checked out the malls in Tagbilaran and Tubigon (where I tried different ice cream flavors from the Buzz Cafe of Bohol Bee Farm), we went to my MIL’s farm, we procrastinated, we laughed, and we ate a loooooot (read: fiesta). We also booked an overnight stay at Henann Resort in Panglao Island which is arguably the biggest and the newest resort in Bohol right now (loved the massive swimming pools with bars and the festive vibe there!).
It was a super fun trip and we never wanted it to end. But as they say, good things don’t last so we’re now back in the Manila to work and save up money so we could fly to Bohol again next year. As for my PILs, they get a month-long paid vacation every year from their employer which they ALWAYS spend in Bohol. Lucky them!

Weekend Story: Subic Fun Ride + Home Sweet Home
Last weekend was all about Subic and the car club that the hubby wanted to be part of, Team Accent Philippines (TAP). We woke up early on Saturday morning and drove to Harbor Point in Subic, Zambales where the meet up was. We mingled with the TAP people there who were quite nice and friendly (as we expected). The good news is that the hubby finally got accepted as an official TAP member and as a symbol of it, he was allowed to buy the official car sticker of the group. Plus, of course, our overnight stay in Bacoor (we drove there straight from Subic) to check out our home sweet home and do some cleaning there. It was a fun weekend overall and despite the summer heat, we were able to get as much rest as we could. Now, we’re back to the daily grind here in Manila.
