Weekend Adventure

Last weekend, the hubby and I, along with my brother, traveled to Porac, Pampanga to check-out The Sandbox. It’s an outdoor adventure park, the first of many attractions in Alviera, a township development in Porac, Pampanga by no less than the Ayala Land group. It was a sort of “preview” of the place and its offerings before it officially opens to the public this coming April 12th.

Of course, we had so much fun! I, for instance, got to try two rides there: the Giant Swing and the UTV. I truly enjoyed both. Overall, it was a great outdoor experience that let us have fun and adventure while still communing with nature. The place is definitely far from where we live but going there just to try it wasn’t a bad idea at all.

A Packed Weekend

As much as I prefer to spend my weekends at home just cooking, baking, organizing, sleeping or doing other fun stuff, there are times when I have to go with the flow of activities my husband or his family has in mind. Like last weekend, for instance. My PILs both took a weekend-off and they decided to join us in Bacoor for the weekend. My SIL (one and only sibling of my husband) tagged along, too. It was two straight days of going out and doing things that families commonly do.

my PILs at the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Shrine

On Saturday, we traveled all the way to Antipolo to visit the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Shrine. It’s been a tradition for my PILs to go there before a scheduled trip to their province (they’re flying to Bohol on May 12 for their annual month-long vacay). After attending the morning mass, the brunch at McDo and the buying of suman and kasuy, we headed to Bacoor already. Before going to our marital home, we had a late lunch at Shakey’s first. We were too exhausted from our long trip that when we reached home, we all decided to doze off. Haha.

Our 2nd Wedding Anniversary Celebration

It was a last-minute plan but I was so glad it pushed through. For our second wedding anniversary celebration, we had a staycation at Azumi Boutique Hotel in Alabang. It was a newly-opened hotel, well-managed and beautiful in every aspect. We just had an overnight stay there but we enjoyed every minute of it. We checked into the hotel on Sunday and left the place Monday noon.

If you’re also planning for a staycation, the hotel is highly recommended. I heard their rooms are discounted until April 2014.

Here are some photos we took of our simple celebration:

Post Valentine’s Day Celebration: Double Date in Tagaytay

This morning, the hubby and I went to a double date with my parents in Tagaytay. We met them up at McDonald’s St-Dominic in Bacoor and after having breakfast there, we drove straight to the country’s second summer capital. Upon arriving there, we were welcomed by the chilly breeze. I liked that there was still no traffic but more people were already starting to come out in groups.

It was my parents’ first time in Tagaytay. So, we took tons of pictures for posterity’s sake. For lunch, we availed of the eat-and-drink-all-you-can offering of Celina’s Cafe and Restaurant. Price was P325 per head plus 3% city government tax. The food was okay but nothing special, just your simple home-cooked meals. What we appreciated more was the setting, it was cozy enough and gave us a nice view of the famous Taal Lake.

Night Out at Ayala Triangle Gardens, Makati

Last Saturday night, I had a date with the two important men in my life: my husband and my brother. We went to Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati.

The last time I was there was two years ago and I noticed a lot of changes in the park. For one, there are now more restaurants and the lighting was better. There are also more people going there now (I saw many adults jogging and several families dining out!) as compared to before. I liked it as it makes the place more alive especially at night.

A Delicious Weekend

Last weekend was all about creativity, braveness, and freedom. Hmmm, I’m actually talking about my work at the kitchen as homemaker. The hubby and I just stayed home the entire weekend and didn’t go out, except for when we heard the mass on Sunday morning and did some walking on Sunday night. Since we didn’t have any trip to the supermarket, I had to make do with what was in our pantry. And I think I did pretty well.

On Saturday afternoon, I had some free time and decided to do some baking. I made some pizza and bread from scratch. I enjoyed baking so much that on Sunday morning, I also baked a chocolate cake and paired it with some fresh juice. Of course, we also had the usual rice meals which the hubby can’t live without. The hubby and I didn’t notice we were intentionally stuck in the house for two straight days because we were eating delicious food non-stop. Haha.
