Weekend Story: Puzzle Mansion and Mushroomburger, Tagaytay

Last Saturday, the hubby and I drove up to Tagaytay to meet with his high school BFF Jeff and his family. They were staying at One Tagaytay Place for the weekend to celebrate the birthday of his wife Karen. The initial plan was to dip in the hotel’s pool and have merienda after but we ended up visiting a puzzle museum which turned out to be more fun.

puzzle here, puzzle there, puzzles everywhere!

Puzzle Mansion is literally filled with puzzles. Did you know that the world’s largest puzzle collection owned by a Filipina named Gina Gil Lacuna is housed there? I bet you did because it was all over the news in 2012 after it was certified by the Guiness Book of World Records.

Weekend Pleasures

Whenever I talk about weekends on this blog, I always make it a point to share a story. Like what we did on that particular weekend, the realizations I pondered on, the stuff that made me happy, etc, etc. This post is a bit different as I’m sharing pictures of things (or people) that made my weekend extra special and fun. Let me get started now…

I finally found the time to continue reading this book about shopping. While it focuses mainly on the sellers’ perspective, I still picked up a lot on what motivates people to shop and what gravitates us to the goods sold in stores. Somehow, it made me feel good about the shopping fast I’m doing. Haha.

Weekend = Preparations

The past weekend was quite busy. The hubby and I spent it preparing his things for his short Bohol vacation with my PILs and my SIL. They actually left for Tagbilaran just this morning. As much as I wanted to join them, I can’t. I’m swamped with work and my boss specifically requested for me and my officemates not to go on leave lest we lose our job. Just kidding. But yes, we can’t go on leave until we’re finished with our three upcoming big events.

So, last Saturday, the hubby and I were at SM Bacoor so he could get some new toiletries. He even got some pet shampoos for his grandma’s dogs. Had I known it earlier, I would have bought some douxo shampoo online as they’re currently on sale. Anyway, he also bought a new pair of slippers and some new shirts.

Unexpected Long Weekend

It was an unexpected long weekend for us last weekend. May 1st was a holiday (it being Labor Day) and our work got suspended on May 2nd because our office suddenly decided to do some pest control and fumigation stuff much to our delight. Haha.

We went home in Bacoor on Wednesday night and left for Manila on Friday morning. I took advantage of that day and applied for a driver’s license at LTO-Tayuman. (Which reminds me, I have to blog about my driving journey for posterity’s sake!) The place was already packed with people when we got there at almost 7:30 a.m. (we really planned to go early to finish early).

All-Work Weekend

It’s been a terribly busy week. It’s already weekend (today being a Saturday) but I’m still working. And yes, we have work tomorrow, too. All this in preparation for the big event we’re having on Monday. Uuuuggghh…

But you know, I love my job. This all-work weekend is happening only this weekend (I hope!). Because I’m working this weekend, I asked the hubby not to go home in Bacoor anymore but to just stay at my in-law’s place here in Manila until Monday comes. I think it’s more practical that way. And less tiring, too.

Holy Week 2014

We had a simple but fun and meaningful Holy Week break. The hubby and I were joined by my two siblings Jodie and Son at home in Bacoor. But we went to Cavite only after we finished the traditional Visita Iglesia in Manila. We visited a total of seven churches, as usual.

On Good Friday, we just stayed at home the entire morning and early afternoon. I baked a chocolate cake out of boredom and it turned out so good. We ate it after every meal until the very last slice was eaten up.
