I made another zippered crochet pouch but this time it was dual-colored. Again, the yarns used for this project were leftovers from my previous projects. Sayang naman kasi kung hindi gagamitin. I gave this pouch to my SIL Albie because she requested for one when I was still learning to crochet. I told her to just wait and soon enough, I was able to make this for her. It isn’t perfect but it sure was a labor of love. Plus, the star stitches are lovely!
Crocheting can be addicting! I think I’m hooked. I like that it makes my imagination go wild and encourages me to be think better when it comes to making my crochet look good. If only I had plenty of time to crochet…hmmmm. Anyway, because I still have several skeins of yarn, I thought of something to do with it. Reading crochet blogs gives me tons of ideas. But given my yarn supplies at the moment, I can only do a few projects.
One weeknight, I watched this tutorial on You Tube about making chevron/zigzag/ripple effect on crochet and decided to make a short chevron cowl using Gantsilyo Guru Selections’ (pantone) blue and ivory milk cotton yarn and a 3.75mm (US 5) hook. The result was more than I hoped for!
Last weekend was filled with activities. It’s really that time of the year again. We were with family and friends bonding over food and conversations. We all had a good time. And then poof, weekend was over! That’s why it’s important to cherish these moments of happiness every chance we get to experience them.
The photos below will give you an idea on how our weekend went:
Last weekend was relaxing and fun. The hubby and I missed going home in Bacoor due to some errands we had to do. He, for instance, had to attend his lone Saturday class in grad school. He was supposed to finish his master’s program last October but he encountered some problem with his thesis (a prototype). Now he still has to fix that and prepare for his thesis defense and hopefully, he’ll be able to graduate in March 2017. But I digress.
So yeah, we spent the entire weekend here in Manila. On Saturday, I went to Quiapo with Mame to buy some crochet supplies. I’ve finally had the time to learn crocheting with Mame as teacher. Boy, was she great! And I have to think I was a fast learner, too! Buhatan na ito ng sariling bangko, hahaha.
