Weekend Story: Chill Saturday at Home + Proxy Ninang Duties in Biñan, Laguna

Last weekend was pretty ordinary but fun, as always. We drove home in Bacoor on Saturday afternoon with Mame because we were attending the baptismal rites of a relative’s baby daughter in Biñan, Laguna on Sunday morning. My sister Jodie was one of the godparents but she couldn’t go so she asked me to serve as proxy ninang (you owe me one, sestra!). It was our first time to visit the church there and the mall beside it (Southwoods Mall). They were very accessible pala if you’ll go there via SLEX. As in they are the first buildings you’ll see after you make a right turn to Southwoods exit coming from Manila.

Weekend Story: Lunch with My Godchildren

For the first weekend of 2018, I spent some quality bonding time with my two godchildren, my two kumares, and their extended family in our Bacoor home. I prepared a simple lunch for them on Sunday and made chikahan to the max with them. Namiss namin ng sobra ang isa’t-isa, hahaha.

I asked Mame to join us for the weekend so she could also entertain my guests. (She gets along with them as much as I do.) The hubby and I, along with Mame, drove home in Bacoor on Saturday afternoon. We dropped by S&R Baclaran to buy some ingredients and of course, to get the chocolate cake that I was raving about last New Year weekend. As I had expected, it was a hit with my guests.

Weekend Story: Christmas 2017

Last Christmas was celebrated at our family home in Naic, Cavite. The hubby and I joined my side of the family there for the much-awaited birthday of Jesus Christ. Our Noche Buena feast consisted of traditional fares like Pinoy spaghetti, roasted chicken (courtesy of Sr. Pedro this time for my convenience, haha), pork BBQ, puto flan, bread, fruit salad, and of course, ham and queso de bola. It was the same Christmas menu that’s always a hit with our family. Simple but delicious and oh so comforting. Burp! We also did a photo shoot which has been a family tradition ever since we celebrated Christmas in Naic five years ago (if I’m not mistaken).

Weekend Story: High School Reunion + Haynet’s Resort and Country House in Gapan

Last weekend, the hubby and I, along with my parents, traveled to my hometown in Nueva Ecija. Daddy and I attended the 1st grand alumni homecoming of our high school. We were quite excited because you know, reunion. Nakakatuwa kasi very active mag-attend yung mga matatanda kesa sa mga bata. Among our batch, we were only 10. The older batches, on the other hand, came mostly in big groups. There were lots of food served and raffle prizes given away. The program was very fun, too, as there were parlor games and production numbers from those active batches. All these and the fact that I got to catch up with some of my high school buddies was worth our trip.

Weekend Story: Food Trips + Unli Movies

Last long weekend was relaxing. I think it had to do with the weather, our house guests (Mame, Daddy, and my sister Jodie), and the things we did. Like going on food trips in BF Homes, Parañaque and in Alabang. Like watching movies on Netflix (thanks to its 1-month free trial, haha). Like spending time with my family, just talking to and laughing with them. Like cuddling with the hubby. Like cooking for my loved ones and washing the dishes. Like listening to the sound of the pouring rain outside. Like doing nothing and just feeling the moment. Overall, it was a long weekend well spent. And as early as now, I’m already looking forward to the next one!

Weekend Story: Wedding + Birthday + Family Day

Last weekend was spent with family and friends (our usual routine). The hubby and I actually had a long one because we took a leave from work on Friday to attend the wedding of our friend Leisette in Pasig. We would then drive home in Bacoor on Saturday afternoon with my parents and my sister Jodie who was celebrating her birthday the next day. That night, we heard the anticipated mass at Madonna del Amore Parish and went straight to Evia Lifestyle Center after. We then treated our house guests to Chinese food for dinner at Hap Chan. Jodie’s birthday salubong happened inside the moviehouse where we watched Spiderman Homecoming in 4D (her treat!). We returned to Manila on Sunday night where we met up with the rest of the fam bam at Okada Manila to watch the dancing fountain there. It was another weekend to remember and be grateful for!
