Weekend Story: Moving Slow and Steady

As it’s only a matter of weeks (or months) before the property where my PILs live (and work as caretakers) gets sold for real, we have started spending a part of our weekends moving stuff from Manila to Bacoor. My PILs can no longer wait to retire in their hometown in Bohol while the hubby and I look forward to living in Bacoor for good (even if it means waking up early in the morning and enduring the heavy traffic at night 5x a week for work). My SIL Albie is staying with us temporarily.

On Saturday, the hubby and I drove home in Bacoor with a few boxes of our personal stuff and those things that my PILs wanted us to keep (I call them forced inheritance!). On Sunday, he would drive to Manila in the morning and go back to Bacoor with my in-laws along with more stuff in the afternoon (because we like to do our moving slow and steady, haha). We would all return to Manila at night on the same day.

Weekend Story: Moving Stuff + Three Events

Last weekend was busy. On Saturday noon, the hubby and I, along with Mame, my brother Dan and my sister Nyam, attended the birthday party of my cousin’s child held at their house in Mandaluyong. From there, the hubby and I joined his car club’s seventh anniversary celebration held at a local bar (also in Mandaluyong). Team Accent Philippines (TAP) is a fellowship of Hyundai Accent car owners from all over the country. They have these what they call “eye balls” where they gather in one place to socialize and exchange car-related news, promos, products, and services. These days, I only get to accompany the hubby during his car club’s big events. I’d rather stay home to NetFlix and chill pag walang pasok sa work. Oo, kinain na rin ako ng sistema, hahaha. ๐Ÿ˜›

In other news, the hubby and I have recently started to move our things from Manila to Bacoor because we may be living there for good sooner than later. On Sunday morning, we already took some boxes to Bacoor. We also brought our old sala set in Bacoor to my parents’ place in Naic. We were joined by Mame and my brother Dan in this trip as we needed more pairs of hands in carrying stuff. We were done by 4PM and drove straight back to Manila for my PILs’ wedding anniversary dinner. They’ve been married for 47 years already kaya naman isa sila sa mga couples na #relationshipgoals namin ng asawa ko.

Weekend Story: Balikbayan Box Surprise + Bonding Time with My In-Laws

Last weekend, the hubby and I were able to make the most of our time together despite the bad weather due to typhoon Josie. On Saturday, my PILs received a balikbayan box from their family friends in the US. (Thank you again Flor family for the treats and goodies!) Later that day, my in-laws decided to join us in Bacoor for the weekend with a stop-over at Mall of Asia (MOA).

The boys watched PBA live at MOA Arena while the girls had dinner and did some shopping at the mall. We stayed in Bacoor until Sunday afternoon and drove to Manila at nighttime so we wouldn’t have to endure the heavy traffic the next day. Actually, the provincial government of Cavite had already put the province under a state of calamity during that time and so we were quite worried na rin. It proved to be a good decision because the heavy rains would continue to pour all throughout Cavite until Monday as reported in the news, submerging many towns there in knee-deep flood (some parts of Bacoor included).

Weekend Story: Homebodies + Puregold’s Petron Fuel Discounts

The hubby and I braved the heavy traffic just so we could go home in Bacoor on Friday night. We wanted to stay longer for the weekend and it was the only way we could do so. We didn’t go out except for the time when we went to church and bought supplies from our new favorite supermarket — Puregold. I don’t know with you but we’ve compared prices and so far, Puregold gives the most bang for our buck. Plus, Puregold promos are aplenty all year round!

And because we’ve been a Petron customer for years now because of our car, we were glad to find out that one of the Puregold promos at present is giving fuel discounts through Petron as part of their 20th anniversary. It’s PHP3 off per liter of gasoline and PHP1 off per liter of diesel from May 16, 2018 to May 15, 2019 at participating Petron branches. You just have to show your Puregold Perks card or Puregold Tindahan ni Aling Puringโ€™s card (for business owners) to the gas attendant to avail of the discounts. Not bad especially these days when fuel prices have been on the rise, right?

Weekend Story: Breakfast at Antonio’s + Gringo Chicken and Ribs

Last weekend was all about enjoying good food and good company. First, there was Breakfast at Antonio’s in Tagaytay where the hubby and I, along with my youngest sister Jodie, had a hearty brunch on Sunday morning. Then, there was the newly-opened Gringo Chicken and Ribs at SM Manila where we had a nice dinner with my in-laws on the same day upon our return to Manila. I, therefore, conclude that this weekend made me bigger than ever, hahaha. Diet, we shall meet again tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜›

Weekend Story: Islas Pinas + Virgin Lab Fest 14

Last weekend was highlighted by experiences that were a delight to the senses. On Saturday, the hubby and I checked out the newest food park in town — Islas Pinas at Double Dragon Plaza in Pasay City. Then we, along with my brother Dan, watched the Set D (composed of three independent plays) of the Virgin Lab Fest XIV held at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) before driving home in Bacoor. We would meet up with my in-laws to dine at Islas Pinas again on Sunday night before going back to Manila.
