It’s our third time to celebrate New Year at our Bacoor home with both of our families joining us. As usual, it was one fun celebration. Yours truly, being the house manager, was in-charge of the cooking. For my sanity, I made sure our Media Noche menu was as simple but enjoyable as it could be. I was not in the mood to bake so I just bought a chocolate cake from S&R which turned out to be good and super sulit for its P399.95 price. I am definitely buying another one when my godchildren visit me this coming weekend!
Weekend Story: Christmas 2017
Last Christmas was celebrated at our family home in Naic, Cavite. The hubby and I joined my side of the family there for the much-awaited birthday of Jesus Christ. Our Noche Buena feast consisted of traditional fares like Pinoy spaghetti, roasted chicken (courtesy of Sr. Pedro this time for my convenience, haha), pork BBQ, puto flan, bread, fruit salad, and of course, ham and queso de bola. It was the same Christmas menu that’s always a hit with our family. Simple but delicious and oh so comforting. Burp! We also did a photo shoot which has been a family tradition ever since we celebrated Christmas in Naic five years ago (if I’m not mistaken).
Weekend Story: High School Reunion + Haynet’s Resort and Country House in Gapan
Last weekend, the hubby and I, along with my parents, traveled to my hometown in Nueva Ecija. Daddy and I attended the 1st grand alumni homecoming of our high school. We were quite excited because you know, reunion. Nakakatuwa kasi very active mag-attend yung mga matatanda kesa sa mga bata. Among our batch, we were only 10. The older batches, on the other hand, came mostly in big groups. There were lots of food served and raffle prizes given away. The program was very fun, too, as there were parlor games and production numbers from those active batches. All these and the fact that I got to catch up with some of my high school buddies was worth our trip.

Weekend Story: More Christmas Shopping with Family + TAP Christmas Party
On Friday night, the hubby and I drove to Bacoor with Mame and my sister Jodie. We did some Christmas shopping (our wallets are starting to cry already, haha) at Alabang Town Center. We also heard the anticipated mass at St. Jerome & Sta. Susana Parish beside it. Then we went to Festival Mall to do more Christmas shopping and have dinner. On Sunday, we traveled back to Manila and after dropping off Mame and Jodie at their place, we drove straight to Megatent in Pasig for the hubby’s car club’s Christmas Party. It was a fun weekend and once again, happy memories were created which are now stored in our hearts. Life doesn’t have to be complicated. That’s why I always remind myself to choose happiness all the time.
In other news, malapit na mag-Pasko!!!

Weekend Story: Catching Up, Cozying Up
Last weekend was a great time to rest and relax. We went out to brave the heavy traffic on Friday night, though, and traveled all the way to Alabang from Manila to eat delicious ramen with friends. Ramen Yushoken made me eat pork! I just couldn’t resist their tantanmen and gyoza. Sinulit ko na ang cheat day ko, hahaha. The rest of the weekend, the hubby and I were just cozying up together in the bed tinkering with our phones because it was the next best thing to do aside from doing nothing. We only went out to hear the mass and go to the wet market on Sunday before driving back to Manila in the afternoon that same day.
Weekend Story: Happy Fiesta, San Miguel!
Last weekend was festive and fun because of the annual celebration of the feast day of St. Michael the Archangel in our barangay here in Manila. We drove to Bacoor on Friday night and got back to Manila on Saturday evening. On Sunday, we had a family lunch and we were joined by our only guest, my PILs’ boss Don Ramon Legarda. This year’s fiesta was a joint celebration for our family as we also celebrated the 5th year in heaven of our little angel Pippo. The rest of the weekend was spent doing household chores, picking up items from the supermarket, and watching Netflix movies. Thank God for weekends talaga!
