No Cramming for Me Now

Now that I’m pregnant, I make an effort to reduce my stress levels. Stress comes from a lot of things, and you can never say your human if you don’t feel its presence in your life. While I have high tolerance to stress, I feel it’s very important that I don’t stress myself too much now that there’s a life developing inside my womb.

I rarely get stressed at home. I’m lucky to have a very kindhearted, patient and loving husband who, now that I’m having his baby, has multiplied the level of kindness, patience and love he’s showing me. I mean, what more could I possibly ask for? I must be a really lucky preggy wife!

Pregnancy and Baby Studies

Just like other expectant moms, I have started reading on pregnancy and baby development after finding out that I was pregnant. Aside from the usual pregnancy threads/forums, I regularly check out Baby Center Philippines. It’s a great resource center for moms-to-be like me. I learn a thing or two in every visit.

And then there are also the Baby Center US and UK versions which I also read up on. They’re basically similar with Baby Center PH except that there, you could learn not just from Pinay moms but American and British moms as well. It’s all about physical knowledge, experts’ advice and personal experiences from real moms, so I guess it’s all good.

Gift from God

Married couples have different priorities. While some wish to have babies right after the wedding, others plan their lives based on other important factors like career, emotional preparedness and financial independence, etc. As with the hubby and I, we want to have a baby this year or the next. For us, it’s the right timing before we could start planning on realizing our other joint goals in life.

For us, babies are a gift from God. It’s not some gift or prize that you receive when you’ve done something good. It’s more of a gift from the one above that is given to those who seek, for them to cherish forever. I don’t know with you but I always get thrilled by the thought of having our baby someday.

Babies are a Blessing

My mommy friends are growing. Just the other week, my friend and co-worker at the restaurant gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. She named him Matt Michael and she can’t wait to take care of him. She delivered by caesarian section. The expenses keep piling up according to her, but it’s so worth it.

I can feel her happiness. Despite all the hardships from pregnancy up to the delivery itself, she said that her baby is a blessing from God. He is now her source of strength, love and devotion. And she wouldn’t have it any other way. I admire her for that. I also can’t wait to see her baby. I remember when she was still preggy, I’d regularly check her FB account for new photos of her with a bloated tummy inside her maternity clothes. That’s why I’m bugging her to upload photos of her baby in her FB account as soon as possible.

Thank God It’s L!

It’s Friday once again and I so look forward to the coming weekend. So, what’s with the title? I must say it’s a big surprise. L stands for something that has arrived recently and will be in my possession come Sunday. I’m very excited about it!

My week has been good and balance, so far. I’m thankful I got to accomplish quite a lot, both in my day job and in my part-time job. I also got to witness some positive developments in my friends’ lives and I can only be happy for them. Like when I learned about a friend who is expecting her first baby, a friend who’s recently bought a brand new car and another friend who’s leaving abroad to seek for a greener pasture. Blessings in any form are always appreciated and welcomed with a grateful heart.
