Family Movie Date

Last night was relaxing and fun as I joined the hubby and his family to a movie date. We watched Four Sisters and a Wedding, the latest Star Cinema film. At around 7pm, we headed to SM Manila and bought last full show tickets. Then we had dinner at Chow King, picked up some items at Watsons and grabbed some popcorn and bottled water before heading to the cinema to watch the movie.

Four Sisters and a Wedding was very entertaining and hilarious. It had the right mix of comedy, drama and some real life lessons on family, success, love and forgiveness. Among the cast, I liked Tony Gonzaga (Teddy) and Bea Alonzo (Bobby)’s acting the most. The former for giving comedic relief to the movie along with his pretend boyfriend Janus del Prado (Frodo) and the latter for her brilliant dramatic portrayal during those crucial family confrontation scenes.

Movie Review: In the Name of Love

I’m a sucker for good Pinoy movies, the ones that are well-thought of, well-executed, and have ensemble cast. Most Star Cinema movies I have watched before belong to this class. While I don’t like it that most, if not all, of their films end on a happy note (the happily-ever-after kind), I still watch them because of three things: good story, intriguing trailer and smart pairing of lead characters.

I have recently watched their latest offering, In the Name of Love. It is starred by Aga Muchlach, Angel Locsin and Jake Cuenca. Intriguing trailer aside, I watched this film because I heard it took them one year to finish the movie. I thought it meant something good. Apparently, I was right. The movie was good and effective in unleashing a thousand emotions from the viewers (yours truly included). To say that I got teary-eyed several times is an understatement. I actually cried!

When I Don’t Have Work at Night…

…I go malling with the boyfriend. Proximity wise, we have quite a few malls to choose from. There’s SM Manila that’s just a jeepney or pedicab ride away. There’s Robinsons Otis that requires the same ride. There’s SM San Lazaro which is just 15 minutes by car. There’s Robinsons Place Malate which is nearer by five minutes than SM San Lazaro is. At times when the boyfriend has extra fuel funds, we choose Mall of Asia (MOA) which is a good 20 minutes ride from the house. There, those are our top choices. The rest we only visit when we have something very important to get.

Just last Wednesday night when we didn’t have bookings at the restaurant and I wasn’t in the mood to read up on adapexin-p (for weight loss purposes!), the boyfriend, his sister A, my brother D and I went to MOA to chill out. After a simple dinner at Chowking, my brother D tagged me along to watch Catch Me…I’m in Love, the latest Star Cinema movie starring Sarah Geronimo (my brother is a big fan!) and Gerald Anderson. I was promised a free ticket so I went without second thoughts. Haha.
