Weekend Story: New Car + Other Stuff

With the arrival of our new car last Friday, we are back to paying monthly car amortizations starting April. I had mixed feelings about this as I initially wanted to use our old car as long as possible. But after understanding where the hubby was coming from, I gave in to his plea and went on to co-sign the car loan with him. Wives should listen to their husbands, sometimes, hahaha.

We sold our old car (thank you and goodbye, Nissen!) to buy a new one (hello and welcome, British!). It was another adult decision that we’ve both agreed to make. So help us God. Now we have a better car that could get us from point A to point B more comfortably and with greater efficiency. For one, it has automatic transmission. The car is now easier to drive for us. Also, it’s diesel, not gas, which implies cheaper fuel prices. Actually, based on the hubby’s thorough research, he found out the Hyundai Accent 2017 has more pro’s than con’s. It’s really just a matter of how the driver uses it, good practices, proper maintenance, and all.

Weekend Story: Home Sweet Home with My In-Laws

One of the perks of staying in our Bacoor home during weekends is we get to practice being husband and wife. You know, just the two of us doing things together. Having house guests, however, has its own advantages. Like when my in-laws join us in Bacoor, for instance, and life suddenly becomes easier. You see, my MIL is very fond of doing household chores. Whenever she’s visiting us, she wouldn’t stop until she sees the whole house spick and span. Actually, she hates clutter so much that when she was still working at the restaurant, she would spend her days off staying at home and just cleaning up their house. She gets satisfied and happy doing just that. Now that she’s semi-retired, she still does a lot of cleaning (at their place here in Manila and at ours in Bacoor). I hope I inherit her “kasipagan” one day. Haha.

Weekend Story: New Year 2017

Happy New Year, people! How is 2017 treating you? I hope you are all doing great and you all had a fun New Year weekend. Last weekend was a blast for the hubby and me. We, along with our two families, celebrated the New Year in our Bacoor home. We drove there first with my two sisters and parents on December 30th and my in-laws and brother joined us on the 31st.

That Friday night, we even had the time to go out for some family bonding at Evia Lifestyle Center. We had a quick dinner and watched MMFF movies.

Weekend Story: Bacoor Staycation + MIL’s Birthday Celebration

It’s funny how I always consider going home in Bacoor as a “staycation.” You cannot blame me, though, given our current living arrangement. After all, it’s just the the hubby and me there and our room is as cozy as we wanted it to be. Plus, it’s air-conditioned! (Our room at my PILs’ place isn’t.) Well, I guess such a little luxury makes a big difference especially in this tropical country of ours. The fact that we only get to enjoy it during weekends (and not if we miss going home for the weekend) make it sweeter. I highly doubt I’d appreciate having an air-con room as much as I do now if I get to enjoy the comfort of an air-con room every night. Oh, the beauty of rarity!

That’s why I’m glad last weekend was another Bacoor staycation. We arrived home on Friday night and left for Manila on Sunday afternoon for a family dinner at Sincerity Cafe & Restaurant (Lucky Chinatown Mall branch) to celebrate my MIL’s 68th birthday!

Weekend Story: Biking, High School Reunion, and Some Family Time

Last weekend passed by so quickly. I thought we didn’t have enough time to rest and be with family. But I guess that’s one great reason to look forward to the coming weekend. Yay!

On Saturday, the hubby and I biked at Mall of Asia (MOA) in the morning. I missed our Saturday morning ride for a few times already and I thought it was about time I join him again lest my biking groove goes away for good. My weight loss progress remains zero as of present time so I need to exert more effort in it. Biking is a form of exercise and I enjoy the activity a lot so I feel that I should do it more regularly.
