Sunday in Tagaytay

I will never get tired of going to Tagaytay. Ever. It’s such a great place for some chilling out, sight-seeing, and of course, food-tripping. Yesterday, the hubby and I, along with my SIL, drove up to the country’s second summer capital and had so much fun. We had brunch at Mushroomburger and desserts was at the famous Bag of Beans.

Sunday in Tagaytay is always busy. Families flock to the place to bond and unwind. There was no traffic yesterday, though, which was a good thing. Because my SIL hasn’t gone to The Cliffhouse yet, we took her there and as we had suspected, there were a lot of people strolling around and the parking slots were full. We parked outside the nearby Yellow Cab and Army Navy instead and sneakily crossed over The Cliffhouse so my SIL could take a look around the place while we enjoyed the view and took pictures. Haha.

The Cliffhouse, Tagaytay

Since the fiancĂ© and I we’re going to spend this weekend in Tagaytay (at the beautiful and serene Las Ventanas to be exact), I asked him to have lunch at The Cliffhouse. We arrived here at past 11:00 a.m. this morning and immediately I took some snapshots for posterity’s sake. My first impression of the place? It was definitely lovelier in the flesh than in photos! It had a great view of the famous Taal Lake and housed a solitary hotel plus several restaurants such as Cafe Platito (where we had our lunch), Firelake Grill, Cafe Breton and Buon Giorno, among others.

Dreaming of Tagaytay

The past days have been very toxic for me. I have been literally swamped with work and couldn’t do anything about it. I remember asking for some pampering the other day and look what landed on my hands this afternoon – a voucher from some groupon site for an overnight accommodation in Tagaytay courtesy of the fiancee!

Maybe he’s been feeling the same thing. That we badly need a weekend getaway to relax and rejuvenate our tired bodies. The Tagaytay voucher came just in time. Aside from being made of awesome, cheap vouchers are a life saver. From the original price of P4,600, the fiancee got ours for almost P1,900 only. Amazing.
