Weekend Story: Crazy Workload, ASEAN Summit Gala Dinner, and Other Stuff

I was swamped with work the entire month of April. Actually, I was crazy busy in the office even before that time. We were handling five big events and my officemates and I were really having a hard time managing our time. Like it was beyond-what-our-human-bodies-could-take kind of thing already. There was just so much to do with so little time and energy from our part. We prepared early but it seemed all our preparations weren’t enough. After publishing my first weekend story for the month, I couldn’t get myself to publish the next ones so I decided to just publish them all in one go today. Yes, only today when I’m as free as a bird again, work wise.

On Making Checklists

I used to rely on my sharp memory in getting tasks done. I noticed, though, that as I get older, my memory gets poorer and poorer and my attention span, shorter and shorter. This is where to-do lists or better yet, checklists, come in handy.

My work in the office requires me to remember things. Part of my job is doing secretarial tasks for my boss (EA lang ang peg!) which means I need to take note of her many commands and requests. Swamped with Work

November and December are the busiest months in our office. This is when we organize many events for our direct client. The past weeks have been pretty manageable but this week is starting to get toxic. But I’m not complaining. I love my job because of many reasons.

I guess I just wanna breathe and to do that, I have to blog. And try a new restaurant or a new place. And spend more time with the hubby and my family. (That’s where weekends come in!) After that, I can face my job again and be productive. And the cycle repeats itself.

Busy as a Bee

December is a busy month at work. Our event line-up is really long and we have to make do with limited time and resources to finish our tasks. I just got back from a long vacation so I don’t feel the busyness that much. And I think that’s a good thing.

But still, I know I have to produce my share of the output. That’s why I’m working doubly hard to contribute to the office’s accomplishments. This busyness at work shall pass. We just have to work (and give our best) one day at a time.

Dreaming of Tagaytay

The past days have been very toxic for me. I have been literally swamped with work and couldn’t do anything about it. I remember asking for some pampering the other day and look what landed on my hands this afternoon – a voucher from some groupon site for an overnight accommodation in Tagaytay courtesy of the fiancee!

Maybe he’s been feeling the same thing. That we badly need a weekend getaway to relax and rejuvenate our tired bodies. The Tagaytay voucher came just in time. Aside from being made of awesome, cheap vouchers are a life saver. From the original price of P4,600, the fiancee got ours for almost P1,900 only. Amazing.
