Top Three Things I Pray For Everyday

I’m not really a prayerful or religious person but I say a prayer whenever and wherever I want. That’s how I communicate and build a relationship with my God. Not for anything, but I just feel like sharing the top three things I pray for daily. Here they are in no particular order:

1. Safety and Protection. Danger is everywhere. You can never tell when you’ll get into trouble or worse, your life or those of the people you love endangered. I always pray for safety and protection for myself, my husband and our families wherever we are and whatever we do.

Routinary, But Never Boring

The past weekend has been quiet for us. We were stuck at home doing the usual stuff. Yes, we got to visit the mall but only to pay bills and get fresh supplies.

While the hubby was busy doing the laundry and cleaning the house, I labored myself in the kitchen (cooking diva ang peg!). The hubby and I, we love to share household chores. It really doesn’t have to be always equal, though, as you can see he does most of the work. Haha.

Read My Lips

Note: I just thought the title sounded cool so I used it for this post.

Anyway, this post is really about lip care. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from my mom which I’m still trying hard to apply to my daily life, that would be putting on lipstick. You see, I have a mother who never leaves the house without colored lips. She says it makes her look presentable even sans make-up.

As for me, I refuse to buy my own lipstick. It’s not in my priority list despite the fact that I now put on lipstick almost every day when I go to work. (That is, when I don’t forget about it!) All my lipsticks were given to me. At present, I think I have seven: one Ever Bilena, one Beauty Treats, one Elizabeth Arden two Avon and two from brands I don’t recall at the moment. I use them alternately so they don’t get empty fast.

My Happiness

A woman’s mood is very much like the weather. It’s unpredictable yet still controllable. I, myself, experience different moods every single day. Sometimes I’m ecstatic, sometimes I’m depressed. Sometimes I’m excited, sometimes I’m bored. Sometimes I’m productive, sometimes I’m lazy. Sometimes I feel like talking to my husband for hours, sometimes I prefer to be quiet and alone.

When I’m happy (like I am today!), my mind is filled with happy thoughts. Most of the time, these happy thoughts make me grateful and calm and joyous. I enjoy these combined feelings and prolong them as much as I can. Because I know that they’re temporary and about to change sooner or later.

The Last Student in the Family

My sister Jodie is now in her last year as a college student. Classes opened just last week at their university. Oh, how time flies so fast! She used to be a tiny girl whom I used to send to and fetch from kindergarten. Next year, she’ll be a fresh graduate already. And she’ll start to look for a job and find one.

My sister Jodie is one tough cookie. She’s actually a working student. She’s a part-time tour guide at the restaurant where I still work albeit occasionally na lang (we have the same job there). I still pay for her tuition fees, though, and my two other siblings provide for her daily allowance. The money she earns from her part-time job she spends in her school projects and other personal expenses.

Movie Review: Man of Steel (2013)

Last night, I watched Man of Steel at SM Manila. I was with the hubby, my mom and my sister Jodie. One word to describe it: awesome. The visual effects were astounding and it didn’t hurt that the lead star, Henry Cavill, was super duper hot! I love him already.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Man of Steel is a 2013 American superhero film. It’s actually the newest Superman movie with a twist. I liked how they made it look futuristic and contemporary at the same time. The crucial flashback scenes blended well with the story. The action scenes were nicely-choreographed I couldn’t blink my eyes for fear that I’d miss a moment. Haha.
