Small Goals

Last night before going to bed, I realized that goals don’t have to be big for me to work on achieving them. I could always start with small goals. For instance, instead of losing 10 lbs. a month, I could work to lose 2 lbs. in one weekend. See what I mean?

I also noticed that my big goals are too many to count. I think it would be best to limit them to say, 5 per year? I dunno yet, but I’m sure it can be done. My life is already complicated, what with the many things I want to do with limited time and resources. What more if I’m worrying about several big goals that are hard to achieve at the same time? See my point?

My Funny Husband

I think I have the funniest husband in the world. His sense of humor is the best. Or at least, it is, in my mind and ears. He loves to throw jokes at me. He enjoys making jokes out of ordinary things. Sometimes I wonder if he’s starting to lose his sanity. He’s crazily funny, if you know what I mean.

Having a husband like mine is like having a clown in the house. It always feels like there’s a children’s party happening right in front of me. I admit I get annoyed at him sometimes, but almost always I end up missing his funny antics when he finally stops after my reprimand. It’s just so sad that our angel in heaven wasn’t able to experience his dad’s coolness and endearingly funny personality. (We miss you, baby.)

Too Little Time

The weekend has passed very swiftly. It’s Monday once again and most of us are back to work. Oh, how little time we all have. Our weekend was pretty normal except that we had my parents in the house. Together, we visited our Naic home on Saturday to clean up. It was a big mess because it had been idle for four long months. Sunday was relaxed, we just went to church to hear mass and then stayed home the whole day.

Last weekend was all about calm and relaxed living. It’s amazing how I got to find happiness in little things. Like when I cooked Kung Pao pasta and my mom liked it a lot. (I initially thought she hated spicy food.) Like when I finally found my missing shoes. Like when I peacefully slept for hours in our bedroom in the afternoon, with the air-con on and with my husband beside me. Like when I re-arranged my accessories and realized that a lot of them I haven’t even worn yet.

My First Pearl Jewelry

My first pearl jewelry is a pair of white South Sea pearl earrings. I got it as a surprise gift from a Davao-based friend yesterday. It’s funny because I was just telling another friend last Saturday about how cheap South Sea pearls are in Palawan and how I’ve been wanting to go there someday to shop for my first pearl jewelry. I didn’t know I’d get it early, and unexpectedly at that!

aren’t they a beauty?

So yeah, I was a very lucky girl yesterday. I got my first pearl jewelry effortlessly it just landed in my lap. And for that, I felt so blessed. I’m actually wearing my 10.0 mm, semi-round white South Sea pearl earrings set in silver today at work. Despite their small size (some can go as big as 18.0 mm), they have very good reflection quality, just like the others of their kind.

Brisk Walking as a Form of Exercise

When I got so busy at work in the latter part of May and the entire month of June, I forgot about zumba. I don’t know if we could resume doing it because our zumba instructor left already (and so did the other participants). For now, brisk walking is my form of exercise.

The hubby and I have started walking briskly recently. We do it every night after dinner. These days, we get to walk as long as 3.7 km every session. Brisk walking does not only help us get fit and healthy, but it also helps us relax. It’s also a great bonding activity for us after working the whole day on weekdays.
