Into Movies

Lately, I’ve been watching movies again. No, not in the cinema because that’s costly and I’m on a tight budget these days. Haha. I just watch movies online via streaming. When I have the chance and my siblings are cooperative, I ask them to download a few movies using torrent which I then transfer to my USB for viewing at home during the weekends.

I just watch a film or two in a day. I noticed that I’m gravitated towards 90’s movies. I dunno, it must be because I was just a teen when these movies were shown and there’s a big chance I haven’t seen most of them yet. Well, I really like old movies and the ones from the 90’s I consider old already. Older than that and I normally lose interest, unless of course it’s a classic and the plot is interesting enough.

Review: Starbucks Card

During one of our Saturday night-outs last weekend, the hubby got himself a Starbucks Card. It’s actually free because the P300 he paid for it is consumable. You earn a star every time you purchase a handcrafted beverage from any of Starbucks’ 210 stores in the Philippines. Cool, ayt?

You get a Grande (midsize) drink from Starbucks for free for every 12 stars earned. And by registering your card online (thru the Starbucks website), you instantly get a free Grande drink. As an added benefit, you also get a special treat on your birthday! Last time I heard, it’s a slice of cake. Sweet!

Videoke is so Pinoy

Filipinos, in general, love to sing. We sing when we’re happy, we sing when we’re sad. We sing if we have a nice voice, we sing even if we’re out-of-tune. We just love to sing for our family and friends. Sometimes, we sing just to hear our voice singing. Haha.

Videoke is a favorite pastime of many Pinoys. In fact, videoke sessions make for a great bonding activity especially when there are food and alcoholic drinks involved. If before, videoke singing could only be done in videoke bars, now it can be done almost anywhere as long as there is a monitor, a microphone and a couple of music CDs/DVDs.
