Note: I started my self-imposed shopping ban on January 1, 2014. I made it official online through this post, and called it a “shopping fast.” I also shared there the reasons why I took the challenge and laid down some rules to guide me while on it.

Shopping Fast: May Report
Hello July! Please be kind to me like how the past months have been. Anyway, back to my shopping fast report. I think I’m getting used to this no shopping thing. For the whole month of June, I have not shopped for anything fancy or cute or beautiful. You know, the things that are included in my guidelines. I did it and I’m gonna do it until November 30th, the end of this shopping challenge.
I don’t have much realizations this time except that shopping is indeed controllable. You can choose to do it or not do it. It’s an activity that may be fulfilling and even therapeutic for most of us, but there’s really not much to it than meets the eye. These days, I still browse shops (online and physical stores) but I just do it for fun and to keep myself updated of trends and all that. The urge to acquire stuff is still there, but it’s been weaker than ever.
Instead of buying things, I’m now more into saving money to finance my investment plans. I can’t wait to finally invest in the stock market! I’m gonna blog all about it once I’ve opened an account at COL Financial. So, please stay tuned! 🙂
ang galing mo naman Edel, hope ma achieve nation pareho yung goals natin and be able to save more money.
Naka 1 month na din ako of not buying unnecessary stuff, and thanks for inspiring me talaga! =)
Wow, congrats din sayo Joy! Kaya naman, diba? I’m so happy nakaka-inspire na pala ako ngayon. Hehe. 🙂
Willpower is the key talaga, plus having a budget and living within or below it! Thumbs up! 😀
Di ko pa masyado keri yung living below my means, nasa living within pa lang ako Trix. Waaaaaah, I wanna do it din, in the future siguro. Thanks ha! 🙂
