Weekend Story: Bad Weather, Good Company

How are you, dearies? (Oh diba, feeling maraming readers lang, hahaha!) I hope you guys are safe and coping just fine to the effects of typhoon Lando. Kakatamad pumasok sa work, noh? Haaaaay…

Last weekend was okay. The hubby and I drove home in Bacoor on Saturday afternoon right after attending his classes (his last for this sem, yey!). We dealt with the bad weather calmly and went on to enjoy each other’s company at home.

yogini wannabe

Saturday night saw me doing yoga. Haha. I downloaded some yoga videos from You Tube and played them on our TV. I just wanted to try it, that’s all. Surprisingly, I enjoyed it and even reminded myself to do it during weekends. Good luck to me! #fitnessgoals

On Sunday, the hubby and I were supposed to celebrate our 11th anniversary as bf-gf by going out but we opted to stay home instead. The strong winds with intermittent rain in Bacoor made it impossible for us to move our butts. I just cooked some food for us to share while he did his usual chores.

salad

This salad was borne out of my desire to eat clean (after doing yoga the other day). It had romaine lettuce, French beans, cucumber, red radish, cherry tomatoes, and blue cheese. Dressing was just a mix of EVOO and balsamic vinegar (1:3 ratio). It looks messy, but it was good! Promise. (Should you really want a better-looking photo, go to my IG account @edelweiss_19 for the plated version.) Haha.

I was not surprised that the hubby despises blue cheese because of the smell. He can be a picky eater sometimes and I respect his food preferences naman. As for me, I loooove blue cheese (and gorgonzola and goat cheese, too)!

Note to self: Next time I make that salad, I’ll add some nuts and meat for more texture and flavor. I’ll also use goat cheese or some mild-flavored cheese so the hubby can eat it.

Meanwhile, the hubby was raving about this Spam Tocino we bought from S&R a few weekends ago. He liked it so much (no need to dip in UFC banana ketchup na raw!) while I found it cloyingly sweet. I still prefer the regular one with 30% less sodium. To each his own talaga!

Oh, and I also got to read a few pages from this e-book about decluttering:

so true and liberating, that highlighted statement

We got back to Manila early morning yesterday and after unloading our stuff, slept again to prepare for a new work week.

Have a blessed and productive week, friends!

May you choose happiness always,
