Last weekend was a blast. We had a double celebration in the family: Mame’s 62nd birthday and my PILs’ 45th wedding anniversary. From the initial plan to have a staycation at some hotel to the bright idea of a night swimming in Pansol, we ended up trooping to F1 Hotel on Saturday night for a dinner buffet. Ang hirap talaga pag magkakaiba ang schedule!
There’s not much review of the buffet offered by the F Restaurant (a.k.a. F All Day Dining) of F1 Hotel BGC online so I thought of sharing some of my insights here. Well, based from our experience, the buffet had a decent food selection for its discounted price. You know, just the right amount of well-prepared food to make you feel full and satisfied but way far from what Spiral by Sofitel or even Vikings and Buffet 101 offer.
I particularly loved their bagnet and mac & cheese!
I was looking for siomai but they only had a hot noodle station that night as Chinese fare. There was just one carving station instead of two as what I had read from Deal Grocer’s description of the deal. No scallops, oysters, and lobsters. I don’t think I saw a pasta station, either. I heard they serve food on rotation so you might find more (or less) dishes than what we had when you go.
There were only a few groups during our visit which translated to a more relaxed dining and going around the food stations for us. The service was quite pleasant, too, as the wait staff were attentive and always smiling. When my brother and I noticed and informed one of the wait staff that their chocolate cake was almost stale (no molds yet but we could taste it from the bread and icing already!), she said she’d tell the kitchen about it.
the chocolate cake in question on the upper right!
Yes, there was indeed “free-flowing homemade iced tea.” Coffee and tea were being offered for free as well. Considering all that, Deal Grocer’s PHP750 voucher per person was value for money already. I just don’t think I’d be willing to pay for the regular rate of PHP1399 next time. That is, if ever there’d be a next time. Haha.
More family photos in 3, 2, 1…
On Sunday, the hubby and I woke up late in Manila. (We went home in Bacoor on Friday night only to go back to Manila the next day for the double celebration.) By 1PM, I was already fixing myself up to go to work. We had this dinner event to attend to which would keep us awake until midnight.
While I was busy at work, the hubby, along with my in-laws, met up with our balikbayan family friends at Mall of Asia (MOA) for another dinner buffet at La Fiesta. Gusto pa nila na sumunod ako dun kaso mga 1AM na ata ako nakauwi. Haha. Pagoda, pero keri lang!
Have a great Monday, friends! 🙂
May you choose happiness always,
Hey, hey, hey! You didn’t say anything about your dress! Or have you already blogged about it? When I saw your IG post, sabi ko, “Aabangan ko ang weekend story ni Edel to know more about that dress!” Hahahaha! Super nice siya, sis. 🙂
P.S. Ewwww on the cake. @_@
It’s from Divisoria. Mura lang, pero maganda ang tela at pulido ang tahi! Matagal na yan, minsan pinapang-office ko pa, hahaha. Salamat, sis! 🙂
Yup ang ganda nga nung dress mu simple. Wow hindi ko akalain galing pala divi. Miss ko na magdivi tuloy!
Salamat, sis! Miss ko na rin mag-Divi. 🙂
Nyahahaha I was about to say the exact same thing as Jerellt’s. Ay sus!!! Divs ang dress???? Ang gandaaaaa nga!
Awwww…happy birthday to your Mame and happy anniversary to your PIL. Bilib na bilib ako sa mga couples who can stay together that long!
At basta maraming desserts! Hehehe.
Thank you, Mylene! Tama ka, in God’s grace. To lotsa desserts, hehehe! 🙂
I’m so hungry right now – food photos always make me salivate.
Happy Birthday to your Mame and PIL!!!
Same here! Thank you, Kayni! 🙂
