Weekend Story: New Year 2017

Happy New Year, people! How is 2017 treating you? I hope you are all doing great and you all had a fun New Year weekend. Last weekend was a blast for the hubby and me. We, along with our two families, celebrated the New Year in our Bacoor home. We drove there first with my two sisters and parents on December 30th and my in-laws and brother joined us on the 31st.

That Friday night, we even had the time to go out for some family bonding at Evia Lifestyle Center. We had a quick dinner and watched MMFF movies.

It’s our second time to celebrate together in our house. What matters most is we’re together and complete as we usher in every coming new year.

With Mame as my assistant, I prepared a simple Media Noche for the entire family on Saturday. (I started with my preps as early as I could so I’d have time to fix myself up.) We even had some of our neighbor friends over that I worried a bit our feast wouldn’t be enough and would be wiped out in minutes. But no, there was still some food left after everybody went to bed to rest.

When the clock struck 12, we all went out of the house to jump non-stop with our pockets filled with coins (and me also holding my phone and wallet!), greet each other a Happy New Year, and watch the fireworks display in the sky sponsored by people we don’t know (thank you!). It was fun, fun, fun. And then we ate and drunk to our tummy’s content.

Of course, there were lots of picture-taking!

Family members left for Manila on the morning of January 1st while the hubby and I extended our stay and headed back to the city the next day. In Manila, our Bohol-based relatives visited us and my MIL served them lunch.

Then, we took them all to Fort Santiago in Intramuros for some sight-seeing.

We went to Greenhills after because my FIL wanted to show them the Christmas on Display (COD) there. While the display was still up, the hourly performance has ended already. Akala kasi ni FIL hanggang Three Kings pa yun, hehe. So, we all just trooped to the KFC there before going home.

The hubby and I even had some time to window shop. I bought a pair of fresh water pearls for PHP300 because my old pair of South Sea pearls (my one and only!) which was gifted to me suddenly got missing. Wala pa akong budget for South Sea pearls pero pag-iipunan ko yun, hahaha.

And that my friends was how our New Year weekend turned out. Have a happy, productive, and bountiful first work week of 2017! 🙂

May you choose happiness always,
