Weight Loss Update: 6 lbs. Lighter

So, from 136 lbs. (heaviest recorded weight last month), I’m now down to 130 lbs. Losing six pounds in one month is no joke. I worked hard for it and I’m glad my efforts paid off. I ate healthier food, moved a lot and did zumba twice a week. I think I’m getting there. My ideal weight of 120 lbs., that is.

Last Friday, I attended a knowledge sharing exercise at work. It was organized by our HR department. They invited Slimmers World people to engage us in a 2-hour health and fitness seminar. The speaker (a health buff guy with strong, big muscles all over his body) taught us a lot about how our body works to get fit: anatomy of the muscles, metabolism, immune system, energy, proper exercise and all. He also shared some exercises that we can easily do in the office, which I think are really easy to perform. All we need to have is discipline to make sure we do it on a regular basis to get fab results. Haha.

Sunday Story: St. Pio, Johnny Rockets and Candy Crush Saga

The hubby and I woke up earlier than usual today. We headed to Manila to visit the St. Pio de Pietrelcina Centre in Libis, QC. We met up with my SIL there and attended the 10am mass. The priest talked about being and staying good for homily. He was adept at sharing the word of God and I was glad I found the time to listen to him.

After the mass, we checked out the nearby Eastwood Mall. Lunch was at Johnny Rockets where we ate overpriced hamburgers. (Review on my food blog soon.) Haha. To burn calories from the strawberry milkshake and all the hand-cut fries I ate, I suggested we go for a walk. We got inside the mall again and perused through shops. One novelty shop was selling personalized magnetic name tags and my SIL almost bought a piece but remembered just in time that a friend who has recently come home from a work stint abroad had one for her as pasalubong.

Thursday Hotness

The heat outside is unbearable. It makes me want to take a bath every five minutes. If I had the money and the time, I’ll go on a beach trip pronto. I have only been to some of the country’s beautiful beaches and I know there’s still a lot, lot more waiting to be explored.

This intense heat is making me look forward to the coming weekend. The hubby and I plan to go to this resort in Cavite for a day tour and if we’ll like it there, we’ll bring the entire family for an outing, too.

Not the High-Heels Kind of Girl

I don’t think I’m a high-heels kind of girl. For work, I wear mostly flat shoes. I wear heels only when I feel like it (which is seldom). Or when we have an event and it’s required that we wear a dress or a gown that pairs well with heels. But then, I can’t say I abhor heels because the truth is, I love them.

It’s ironic how I continue to buy high-heeled shoes whenever I chance upon a pair that looks nice and comes in a friendly price. Yet I don’t wear them on a regular basis. I just know I can’t sacrifice comfort over style so I choose flats most of the time. While it’s true that wearing heels makes you feel sexier and chicer and gives you more confidence, I easily get lazy wearing heels because I feel that it requires so much effort on my part, if you know what I mean.

On Grocery Shopping

I was at the supermarket last Saturday to do some grocery shopping. I had only a few items in mind but I ended up getting more. I usually have a to-buy list kept in my phone but every time, there are items not in the list that get thrown in my grocery cart. Talk about impulsive shopping. Haha.

I knew I had a budget to stick to but as what has been the case in the past, the impulsive shopper in me won again. I justified it by telling myself that all I bought were useful items and not just unnecessary stuff. They would serve their purpose sooner or later. But don’t get me wrong. I still put a limit to my grocery shopping. If I have a budget of P2,000, for instance, I only overspend by 25% to 30%. Anything beyond that is unacceptable.

Quiet Weekend

It’s not every time that we get to experience a quiet weekend. You know, a weekend where there’s very little or zero happenings. Last weekend was a perfect example of a quiet weekend for us. The hubby and I just stayed home doing household chores together and taking our much-needed rest after. That kind of stuff.

Except for our quick trip to SM Bacoor to replenish our pantry supplies, we just spent a quiet weekend at home. It was scorching hot outside so we just watched a lot of TV, played a lot of games, ate a lot of food, and cuddled and kissed each other like there’s no tomorrow (okay, that’s exaggerated).
