Last weekend was a bit busy. On Saturday, I accompanied the hubby to Quezon City for our car’s preventive maintenance. It took a few hours before we were allowed to drive the car again and since we got hungry while waiting, we opted to dine at one of the restos in Banawe before going home in Bacoor. Our Sunday was spent at the condo where we did a mini photoshoot of baby NJ and her gifted clothes just for fun. She’s one lucky baby because she gets a lot of nice dresses, tops, and bottoms from our family and friends, with or without a special occasion.
Weekend Story: Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day 2021
Last weekend was a long one. Friday was Chinese New Year (CNY) and Sunday was Valentine’s Day. We did not celebrate both occasions, though. We’re non-believers, I guess. Haha, just kidding. Our CNY for instance, was spent through a quick visit to St. Pio Shrine in Libis. I was with the hubby and my MIL. It’s been a while since the last time we went there.

Weekend Story: Baby NJ’s 1st Birthday Celebration
Last weekend was super fun, memorable, and meaningful. It was baby NJ’s first birthday on Sunday, after all. As what we had planned out, we had a small party at the condo attended only by family. We brought drinks (and the whole house!) to the condo and had food delivered from various sources. We also hired a photographer (thanks again kuya Raul Mansilungan of Love Photography!) who took tons of beautiful photos of our simple celebration.
The hubby and I were exhausted after the party but we were so so happy our rainbow baby is now one. From having an infant, we now have a toddler, yay! Where has the time gone?

Weekend Story: Birthday Preps
The days leading to baby NJ’s first birthday are starting to get busy. Last weekend was no exception. On Saturday, the hubby and I, along with my SIL Albie, went grocery shopping. Aside from buying food and other essentials, we made sure we have completed all the items (food and otherwise) we need in preparing the condo for our rainbow baby’s natal day. We decided to celebrate at the condo so it’s more spacious and well-ventilated. And so by Sunday, we went there and started cleaning it thoroughly. Para next weekend, lagay na lang kami ng decors and then party proper na.
Just like her christening last year, baby NJ’s birthday is going to be a family affair. The hubby and I have decided not to invite relative and friends anymore to be fair to all of them. Eh paano ba naman, godparents pa lang ni baby NJ, total of 52 persons na, hahaha. As much as we wanted to throw a big party, we cannot as we are limited by the IATF rules and regulations on covid-19 prevention. We also cannot risk catching the virus because we have four senior citizens and a baby in the family. So yeah, family celebration it is. The best thing about this set-up? Ang laking tipid saming mag-asawa, hehe.
Weekend Story: Going Out in the New Normal
Last weekend was fun and far from boring. On Saturday, the hubby and I took my in-laws to the nearby mall to have lunch. Citibank kasi has this ongoing promo that offers 50% off at Bistro Group restaurants for a minimum bill of P2,000. We took advantage of it and used my Citibank credit card to eat at Watami. Okay din naman because we got to enjoy delicious Japanese meals and only paid half the price. Dining out in the new normal may be unsafe and unnecessary but it is one of the ways to help the local economy recover. And as long as we are following standard health protocols, I believe we won’t be increasing our risk of contracting the dreaded covid.

Weekend Story: Enjoying the Outdoors
Last weekend was quite hectic. On Saturday, we visited the condo and had some fixtures installed in our drying/storage area. The hubby and I were with Mame and my sister Jodie. And since we were already there, we also swam in the pool for a good 30 minutes. Our entire Sunday was spent with baby NJ who’s growing to be more cheerful and independent each day. She loves strolling around the village (actually, it’s more of along our street lang!). It’s a good thing there are also some babies in our area that she sees and interacts with when we are outside. Siguro paglaki nila, sila rin ang magiging magba-barkada, hehe.
