Pregnant and Confirmed!

After two home pregnancy tests (April 15th and 22nd) and a check-up with the Ob-Gyne (last Saturday), we’re now 100% sure that I’m pregnant. We’re overjoyed! We can’t thank God enough. This is such a huge blessing that the hubby and I will be eternally grateful for.

I’m happy that everything is fine with our baby. We heard the heart beat for the first time and the experience was priceless and out of this world. Yipeeee! We’re very excited about this development and we can’t wait for our baby to be born. I’m okay with whatever the gender is, but one of the grandmas seriously wants a girl she’s even started looking for baby girl clothes and kids bedding sets for girls. Haha.

Fun Birthday Celebration

My one and only SIL had an out-of-town birthday celebration yesterday. It was Labor Day so everybody was able to go. We went to Tanza Oasis Hotel and Resort (our second time there) in Tanza, Cavite and had a sort of family picnic. We swam and ate and swam and ate. It was all fun.

My MIL brought so much food (pork humba, fried chicken, king crab legs, boiled bananas, suman, bread, assorted chips, sodas, juices and three kinds of tropical fruits). There was no reason to be on a diet so I feasted on everything. We all did. Haha.

Ask and You Shall Receive

And sometimes, even if you don’t ask at all. Perhaps, this is how life really works. When you need something, the universe understands and the stars conspire to give just what you need. I can so relate to this because I just received a good news yesterday morning. It was something I didn’t expect but something I really needed.

I noticed that in my life, whenever I’d ask for something from God, even if it’s just a whisper and only me could hear it, God listens and grants my request. That’s why even if I’m a self-confessed pessimistic person, I still get to the proverbial silver lining in the end. Funny, but true.

Spending Habits

I noticed that after I got married, my spending habits have changed dramatically. I don’t have the urge to shop now. That or maybe, I’m just not overly exposed to the things women love (e.g. clothes, shoes, jewelries, etc.). And it doesn’t help that we hardly hit the mall these days.

As for the hubby, I think he’s also changed. It’s a given that he’s very fond of gadgets. He’s a techie, after all. If I’m not mistaken, he plans to get an iPhone 5 this year. He also loves looking at cars and model kits when we’re at the mall. But these he can’t buy in an instant as we’re still paying for our car. Haha.

Gift from God

Married couples have different priorities. While some wish to have babies right after the wedding, others plan their lives based on other important factors like career, emotional preparedness and financial independence, etc. As with the hubby and I, we want to have a baby this year or the next. For us, it’s the right timing before we could start planning on realizing our other joint goals in life.

For us, babies are a gift from God. It’s not some gift or prize that you receive when you’ve done something good. It’s more of a gift from the one above that is given to those who seek, for them to cherish forever. I don’t know with you but I always get thrilled by the thought of having our baby someday.

Work Mode

I started the week with one goal in mind: to finish the work that has been sitting on my table for a month now. Deadline is still quite far (first week of May) but somehow, I wanted to finish it to free myself from thinking about it when I’m at home. Yes, I’m a worrier like that.

Well, it seems I have already made a lot of progress. Like I’m done 80%. I still have two days before the work week ends and I hope I could finish everything by then. I love it when I get to do what I have planned to do. Yey!
