Top Three Things I Pray For Everyday

I’m not really a prayerful or religious person but I say a prayer whenever and wherever I want. That’s how I communicate and build a relationship with my God. Not for anything, but I just feel like sharing the top three things I pray for daily. Here they are in no particular order:

1. Safety and Protection. Danger is everywhere. You can never tell when you’ll get into trouble or worse, your life or those of the people you love endangered. I always pray for safety and protection for myself, my husband and our families wherever we are and whatever we do.

Weight Loss Update: 6 lbs. Lighter

So, from 136 lbs. (heaviest recorded weight last month), I’m now down to 130 lbs. Losing six pounds in one month is no joke. I worked hard for it and I’m glad my efforts paid off. I ate healthier food, moved a lot and did zumba twice a week. I think I’m getting there. My ideal weight of 120 lbs., that is.

Last Friday, I attended a knowledge sharing exercise at work. It was organized by our HR department. They invited Slimmers World people to engage us in a 2-hour health and fitness seminar. The speaker (a health buff guy with strong, big muscles all over his body) taught us a lot about how our body works to get fit: anatomy of the muscles, metabolism, immune system, energy, proper exercise and all. He also shared some exercises that we can easily do in the office, which I think are really easy to perform. All we need to have is discipline to make sure we do it on a regular basis to get fab results. Haha.

Count Your Blessings

I’ve never been a complainer. Or so I believe. All my life, I’ve been appreciating whatever little I have. Instead of complaining about the things I lack in, I try to count my blessings. Of course, I get insecure and intimidated every now and then, but I never let insecurity and intimidation eat me alive. Healthy levels lang dapat lagi. Haha.

Problems and challenges are a part of life. That’s why I try to live each day with a grateful heart. Sometimes it ain’t easy. But who says life is easy or fair? How you look at things can brighten or dampen your mood. I always choose the former. I always choose to be happy. And counting my blessings always does the trick.

Another Work Week Ends

Thank God it’s Friday! As cliché as it sounds, I really like it when it’s Friday already. It means the work week ends at 5:00 pm (6:00 pm in my case!), the weekend is just several hours away, and a new adventure awaits me. The adventure could be a relaxing stay at home, a tiring but enjoyable mall trip or an impromptu road trip. Actually, it can be anything that creates happy memories and spells f-u-n.

On a different note, today is a special day in our office as it celebrates its founding anniversary. I heard there will be free packed lunch for everyone and a mass will be held this afternoon. Cool. This doesn’t happen every day so I better take advantage of it. Haha.

Rock Stars Rock

My brother’s outfit today is inspired by a rock star. He went to work this morning wearing all black with matching skull accessories for a fierce look. All that’s missing is a new epiphone dot and he could pass as member of a rock band. My brother is a teacher and because classes have been over recently (at least in their school), he’s now finishing the grades of his students wearing civilian clothes.

Speaking of rock bands, I really admire the way they express themselves through their clothing and the intense energy they have when performing on stage. Those electric guitars and other musical paraphernalia they use speak a lot about their freedom of expression and distinct individuality.

A Well-Spent Day

Don’t you wish all your days are well-spent? If that is the case, then maybe there are more reasons to be happy about. A well-spent day for me is one where I am not only productive but also doing meaningful things for myself and for the people I love. Or just a plain day spent doing crazy things with the people dearest to me.

Busy or not, the day should be well-spent in such a way that the overall experience becomes so enriching and unforgettable at the same time. Unfortunately, it’s not every day that we get to experience a well-spent day. There are days that are forgettable and there are days that are regrettable. When our attitude becomes sour or goes downhill, or the circumstances surrounding our day become uncontrollable or go for the worse, we are left with very limited options to make our day right.
