On Making Random Lists

I write a lot of random lists. I actually enjoy making them. List of things to buy in the supermarket, list of things to do at work, list of things I want to get for myself, list of movies I want to watch, list of dishes I want to try cooking at home, list of restaurants I want to try, list of books I want to read, list of new words or phrases I’ve read or heard from other people which I’d like to incorporate in my writing, etc, etc. These lists, no matter how shallow or deep they sound, are equally meaningful to me. They keep me sane. They also bring order into my life.

But just because I make these lists doesn’t mean I’m a super organized person nor a very disciplined one. These lists are just there to remind me of the things that matter to me. They also remind me about the things I look forward to doing, acquiring or simply having the chance to enjoy or appreciate from afar. These lists undergo constant editing, too, just like how my life keeps on evolving before my very eyes.

Ready for the Weekend

It’s Friday already and weekend is only several hours away. I can’t wait for the weekend to arrive. I can’t wait for the hubby and I to go home in Cavite. My SIL asked to go with us and we agreed to take her so I guess that’s another reason to be happy about. Having a guest at home is always fun as I get to cook more. You know how much I love experimenting in the kitchen. Haha.

Speaking of cooking, I just remembered my pantry already needs replenishment. Good thing my new fave supermarket, Rustan’s Fresh in Evia, Daang Hari is just a 30-minute car ride away. I so love the atmosphere there. Not only do they have a wide selection of fresh produce and dry goods, but they also have friendly staff and a spick-and-span place that makes grocery shopping more enjoyable. I’m telling you, I can stay there the whole day just comparing food labels. I know every Rustan’s supermarket is like that but this particular branch is the most charming for me. Oh well, that, or I’m just easy to please.

Kiddie parties are fun and meaningful.

I’ve always enjoyed attending kiddie parties, may it be held in a posh restaurant, a fast food store, a club house or even just at home. I actually dream of hosting a birthday party for my future kid. If I could have it my way, I want it to be a DIY kind of party, with beautiful things scattered all over the place. Oh well, that’s just the creative and fun-loving momma in me.

Kiddie parties are fun. The program, the parlor games, the birthday wishes, the blowing of candles on the birthday cake, the singing of the universal Happy Birthday song to the celebrant, everything about a kiddie party spells of fun and happy moments that last a lifetime. I can’t wait for the time that I’ll be sharing this wonderful experience with my future kid.

Positive Vibes

People need positive vibes. From the moment I wake up, I smile and thank God for the gift of life. I try to think of happy thoughts and feel positive. When I do that, my day becomes better. As in, always better.

But there are times when I get depressed and anxious about things. Days when I feel like my life is a mess and things are not turning into what I expect them to be. That’s when positive vibes disappear and are replaced by negative energies.

Small Goals

Last night before going to bed, I realized that goals don’t have to be big for me to work on achieving them. I could always start with small goals. For instance, instead of losing 10 lbs. a month, I could work to lose 2 lbs. in one weekend. See what I mean?

I also noticed that my big goals are too many to count. I think it would be best to limit them to say, 5 per year? I dunno yet, but I’m sure it can be done. My life is already complicated, what with the many things I want to do with limited time and resources. What more if I’m worrying about several big goals that are hard to achieve at the same time? See my point?

My First Pearl Jewelry

My first pearl jewelry is a pair of white South Sea pearl earrings. I got it as a surprise gift from a Davao-based friend yesterday. It’s funny because I was just telling another friend last Saturday about how cheap South Sea pearls are in Palawan and how I’ve been wanting to go there someday to shop for my first pearl jewelry. I didn’t know I’d get it early, and unexpectedly at that!

aren’t they a beauty?

So yeah, I was a very lucky girl yesterday. I got my first pearl jewelry effortlessly it just landed in my lap. And for that, I felt so blessed. I’m actually wearing my 10.0 mm, semi-round white South Sea pearl earrings set in silver today at work. Despite their small size (some can go as big as 18.0 mm), they have very good reflection quality, just like the others of their kind.
