A Blue-Themed Christmas

Despite of what has happened in the Visayas recently, Filipinos still had a reason to observe Christmas here in the Philippines. In our family, we’ve always celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ simply but meaningfully. We give and receive gifts and we partake of our Noche Buena when the clock strikes 12 (midnight).

As what the hubby and I had agreed upon before, we joined the Christmas celebration of my family in Naic last December 25. For New Year, the celebration will be with his family at our home in Bacoor. I’m glad that we are able to celebrate these joyous occasions with both sides and that this setup works fine for everybody.

Weekend Roundup

Last weekend was quiet, relaxed and fun as usual. Our Saturday started late because the hubby and I decided to wake up late. After lunch, we just watched TV and slept the afternoon away. I was even able to play Candy Crush in between naps. I loved it.

When dinnertime came, we headed to this Japanese resto tucked in our neighborhood. Well, technically, it’s still part of our barangay, though we live several blocks away from it. You have to believe me when I say they serve affordable yet very delicious Japanese fares! My favorites are the Katsudon, Bibimba, kani salad and tuna maki.

Minor Accident

During a visit to a theme park last Saturday with his co-workers and some friends, my brother had an accident and broke his left arm. The whole family was worried sick about him. He was rushed to the nearest hospital and his fracture was secured by a cast.

He went to an orthopedist yesterday and after a thorough check-up, the doctor found out the fracture wasn’t that bad. The cast was removed and he went home just wearing a sling to protect his broken arm. Whew, what a relief!

Family Bonding Time

Last Wednesday night, I had a fun time bonding with my mom, my brother and my two sisters. We went to SM Manila to have dinner together. The restaurant was Kebabers and I’m still thinking if I’ll write a review of it or not. The Persian food they served us was ordinary and I found the servings small and the price quite expensive for a fast food.

Anyway, right after dinner, my sister and I headed to our fave nail salon called Buff Spa to get a pedicure. This one I’m gonna write a review about because I’ve always been delighted by their service. One day when I have the time and some pictures, I guess.

Family Movie Date

Last night was relaxing and fun as I joined the hubby and his family to a movie date. We watched Four Sisters and a Wedding, the latest Star Cinema film. At around 7pm, we headed to SM Manila and bought last full show tickets. Then we had dinner at Chow King, picked up some items at Watsons and grabbed some popcorn and bottled water before heading to the cinema to watch the movie.

Four Sisters and a Wedding was very entertaining and hilarious. It had the right mix of comedy, drama and some real life lessons on family, success, love and forgiveness. Among the cast, I liked Tony Gonzaga (Teddy) and Bea Alonzo (Bobby)’s acting the most. The former for giving comedic relief to the movie along with his pretend boyfriend Janus del Prado (Frodo) and the latter for her brilliant dramatic portrayal during those crucial family confrontation scenes.

Our SM Aura Experience

Yesterday, I went to SM Aura with the hubby and his family after hearing mass at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Shrine in Libis, QC. SM Aura is the newest mall in town. It’s located at the posh Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. It’s right beside two other commercial centers: Market! Market! and Serendra. It was our first time there so we explored it as much as our limited time could allow.

I love the design of SM Aura’s building as it looks so modern and stylish. The shops inside are also nice, although they’re obviously on the pricey side. SM Aura is marketed as a luxury mall, that’s why. When we were strolling around, I couldn’t resist entering the Forever 21 store and ended up buying two basic tops that were on sale. Their accessories section was also filled with beautiful things during our visit. They even had bold and funky rings that look like those college class rings for men except that they look good on women’s fingers, too.
