Low-Cost Housing in Cavite

I’m a proud owner of a low-cost housing unit in Cavite. It’s actually my gift to my parents who are currently living there. I chose a low-cost house over an expensive one for practical reason. I’d rather go for a low-cost house that I could finish paying for than an expensive one that could end up in the hands of the bank at a slight twist of fate.

Slowly, we are improving the structure and the interiors of the house by introducing repairs here and there. So far, we’re done with tile flooring and back extension and we also bought some furnishings and home appliances to make life easier for our parents. We have more home improvement projects lined up, but we’re doing it one project at a time.

On Paying Bills

While a lot of people are paying their bills through online banking, I have yet to apply the same practice on a regular basis. There’s no question about the convenience online banking gives when it comes to paying utility bills. You just open your online bank account and do transaction right then and there. It saves you a lot of time because you can do it in front of the PC anytime you want.

As for me, I only pay my bills through online banking when it’s the last day of payment and I have forgotten to pay for them at SM Bills Payment Center (I’m quite loyal to them). As much as possible, I don’t want to touch my money in the bank. Come to think of it, when I use the bank funds to pay my bills, then I will have to go the bank personally (or ask someone to do it for me) and deposit the same amount of money again to keep my old balance. It’s time-consuming, don’t you think? Unless I’m shopping online trying to buy some vintage tub (I love vintage and vintage-looking stuff!), I still prefer paying my bills in one go at the nearest bills payment center.

Dream House

The fiancee’s house is finally finished. Inspection date will be on August 6, the turn-over on August 20. Oh how time flies! The first time we checked out that place, it was just an empty lot. Almost a year after, houses are now occupying that exact same lot. And the subdivision in itself now has a growing community.

After the turn-over comes the necessary home improvements. As early as now, we’re exploring ideas to create a modern yet cozy look for the house. While he prefers tile flooring, I’m looking into the possibility of having pergo flooring. I admire the durability of tiles (our Naic home even has a solid tile flooring!) but I also appreciate the look and feel of laminated wood.

Heavy Breakfast Ideas

As part of my serious efforts to lose weight, I have decided to eat heavy breakfast every morning. It’s been four days and I’m slowly getting used to the practice. My mom has been very cooperative in this. She happily prepares my “baon” and make sure I don’t forget taking them to the office for consumption. I so love her!

What do I usually have for breakfast? I’m not a picky eater so anything would do so long as it’s edible. I don’t even mind eating leftover food! My breakfasts in the past four days were mostly rice-viand combos. Whatever is left of last night’s dinner my mom would keep in the refrigerator for reheating the next day. That becomes my breakfast. I seldom eat dinner in the house because it’s either I eat at the fiancee’s place or eat out in the mall.

Plans for the Long Weekend

Seriously, I don’t have any. I am actually doing some work this long weekend. I might do some cooking here at home but right now, I just wanna rest. Tonight I have work at the restaurant and so I wanna relax a bit for now. Oh, there’s this new game I’m playing in my iPod Touch called Veggie Samurai and I’m enjoying it a lot. It’s quite similar to Fruit Ninja except that the veggies can be diced and there are giant veggies showing up every now and then giving you a perfect 100 score if you are able to cut it into several slices quick. Unfortunately, I have yet to beat the 1,400+ high score courtesy of my younger sister. Bummer.

Tomorrow is Father’s Day! To make it a bit special for my Dad, I’m taking him to a nice restaurant that he hasn’t been to yet. I initially wanted to take the entire family to an outing at some nice resort in Cavite. I wanted all of us to swim in huge pools complete with swimming pool lifts and have fun all day. But I realized I had an upcoming beach trip in Zambales next week and I needed money for it. Maybe, next time. Haha.
