On Keeping a Routine

Do you follow a certain routine? I do. And I just realized having one has helped me become more productive and organized over the years. But it doesn’t mean I don’t get lazy sometimes because I do. More often than not, though, I get to do my tasks and finished most of them even ahead of time. I used to do a lot of cramming during my college days but I’m a changed woman now. Or so I believe. Haha.

I have a certain routine that I follow during weekdays, which involves many tasks from my current job. I also have a different routine on weekends when I’m a wife more than anything else. Anyway, below are what I think are the benefits of keeping a routine:

Our Banker

Remember the last graduate in our family? It didn’t take long before she landed her first job. Actually, she got accepted as teller at a local bank even before graduation day. Her formal training started just yesterday and soon, she’ll start working at her assigned branch. I’m just so so proud of my sister Jodie!

I can only wish her success as she starts her own career in the banking industry. It’s not gonna be a joy ride, for sure. There would be hard times, but I believe in her, I know she’s a toughie despite her small body frame. I’m very excited over this new chapter in her young life. So promising, so full of hope. We now have a banker in the family. Wohooo!

More Time with Family

After I got married, I have to admit I had less time to spend with my family. With family, I mean my parents and my three siblings. When I was still single, I used to be a homebody who spent most of my time with them. When the hubby came into my life, I had to share some of my time with him also.

It’s a good thing I have a husband who understands my need to check on my family, especially my parents, from time to time. It’s a good thing also that we live near them, well, technically. My in-laws’ place in Manila (where we stay at least twice or thrice a week) and my parents’ place are just a few steps away from each other.

PhilHealth Refund, Finally!

Thank heavens, we finally received our refund from PhilHealth yesterday. It was for the hospital bill of our angel. Wow, I still can’t believe it. Imagine, we filed our claim in January 2013 which means it took one year and four months before we got our refund.

Actually, our claim was filed late and even got rejected at first. But we didn’t lose hope that easy. We sent a letter of appeal and hoped that the good officials of PhilHealth would listen to our plea. And they did! The service may be slow, perhaps due to the volume of claim requests, but what matters to me is that they do process them. The check we received yesterday was proof to that.

Goodbye, Braces!

After a few years of wearing braces, I finally got rid of them yesterday. Wohooo!

dyaraaaaaaaan, haha

It was a long, crazy journey. I had two dentists. The first one had too many patients (and her clinic was far from my place) that I felt the need to switch to the second one and stuck with him until my teeth became okay. Not 100% okay, actually, because my right canine moved too much inward when I got pregnant and so the second dentist and I had a tough time getting it back to its old position. It didn’t get back to normal but at least it didn’t look as ugly as before.

That Perfect Summer Getaway

I used to document my summer getaways (I called it “summer adventures” then) through posts in my old blog. They used to be plenty and memorable and fun. As I’ve aged, they became fewer and fewer and I didn’t know why. It must be because I’ve become busier than ever. It must be due to the fact that I’m now not as adventurous as before.

But still, I continue to want to have my dose of summer getaways. I guess summer has that effect on people. It makes us feel vibrant and adventurous and young. It makes us push for fun activities that would enable us to see new places and meet new people. It makes us long for the outdoors and for us Pinoys, the three top things associated with the season: sun, sand and sea.
