MiG Ayesa is Back in Manila!

The Fil-Aussie musician and rock star who made us all proud at the Rockstar: INXS lead vocalist reality search is back in Manila. He is performing as the lead star in the Rock of Ages, the hit Broadway musical people are raving about.

I am definitely not going to miss this show slated from June 15 to July 8, 2012 at RCBRC Plaza, Makati. MiG Ayesa, apart from being the great multimedia star that he is, is part of the Legarda family who owns the fine-dining restaurant where I work part-time. I’ve met him once and he’s very warm and friendly. I know he’s super talented so watching him perform live on stage is going to be so worth the time.

I Lost My Favorite Purse

Some good things never last. So true. That was the exact thought running in my head after I lost my favorite purse at this hotel where my family and I had a good dinner buffet to celebrate my sister’s college graduation. I still can’t figure out how I lost my purse because as far as I remembered, I slid it back into my bag after using it.

Aside from some personal things, a few cash and a check (that I still have to request for a re-issue from the company that gave it to me!), it’s the purse itself that I really regret losing. Yeah, talk about sentimental value. It had been with me for just a few months but I love, love it’s nice color and print and the beautiful butterfly bead work on its back. Awww, I really miss it!

Do You Make a Checklist?

I usually don’t, but when it comes to big tasks that need careful planning and attention, I do. Let’s admit it, checklists are very important to keep us focused and organized when preparing for something, say a big event or activity. We cannot afford to miss out on the important details just because we’ve forgotten about it. We have to remember them, and remembering them means having to list them all down on paper. Or in this age of technology, in our tablet or laptop.

For my wedding, I decided to make a checklist of all the things we need to do. I listed down everything both on paper and in my desktop. I like the organized look of Excel and how easy it can be edited. At the same time, I like my personal handwritten updates and corrections on paper. I dunno with you, but I don’t get confused working on both media.

Online Shopping at the New Multiply

Multiply.com has recently upgraded its online shopping system and it seems everything’s doing fine. I said so because I shopped there last week. I didn’t really intend to shop I just wanted to browse items in the “marketplace.” But before I knew it, I was already paying for three accessories via Paypal. Haha.

If there’s one thing that needs to be improved on, though, I think it has to be the shopping monitoring system. After I paid for the three accessory items I got from two different merchants, I tried checking my account if it would reflect my purchases but found none. I also wanted to monitor the movement of my items but there was no provision for that. I dunno if they just haven’t gone to that part yet or my account isn’t only updated. But still, something’s amiss here.

Why Visit Manila?

Ancient buildings, diverse religions and fragrant foods are just some of the things you can expect to find in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. The city is home to significant iconic landmarks and is rich in history, as well as providing shopping and traditional dining experiences. You can expect to find pleasant and warm weather here, with the annual temperature averaging 20 to 30 degrees Celsius.

If you are looking for adventure and excitement, the Feast of the Black Nazarene is a huge annual event held every January. Each year, it attracts millions of followers who barefoot, carry a dark colored wooden, life sized model of Jesus Christ through the streets, in imitation of Jesus on his way to Mount Calvary. It is a busy and hectic celebration so there is nothing like finding a peaceful and traditional restaurant to relax and have dinner in afterwards, or go back to your hotel room to play PartyCasino.it on your laptop and read some tourist book guides.

The Perfect Birthday Gift

My sister Jodie, who is the youngest in the family, is celebrating her 18th birthday today. While it has become some sort of tradition to celebrate this big event in a grand way, my family cannot afford it. It’s a good thing my sister understands. I, myself, have not experienced a grand celebration when it was my turn to be a debutant. I’m not complaining, though, because I know where we stand. And since I have work at the restaurant tonight, we decided to celebrate in our own unique way tomorrow. Yes, it’s gonna be a family event.

To compensate for the absence of a party, because we have already decided to just eat out, we want to give her a gift. We’re still brainstorming on the best gift to give her, and right now all I could think is to buy life insurance for her. A life plan sounds like the perfect birthday gift to me. We all know how important it is to feel secured today. Saving for the rainy days is one of the best lessons taught to us by our parents. The earlier she starts investing in her future, the better.
