Weekend Story: Father’s Day 2019 in Baguio City

For Father’s Day weekend this year, the hubby and I took my parents to Baguio City. It was my father’s first time in the city of pines so the trip was double the fun and excitement. We stayed at Mountainside Lodging House, the place where we stayed in during my last visit to Baguio with the hubby. For this particular visit, we saw The Mansion, Mines View Park, and Burnham Park. We bought pasalubongs and had ice cream at Good Shepherd. We had my parents experience the festive Baguio night market. We dined at Pine Country Steaks and Waffles, Good Taste Restaurant, and Cafe by the Ruins. We also had cakes from Vizco’s. All in all, it was an awesome overnight stay in Baguio appreciating Daddy and honoring his presence in our lives.

Weekend Story: Family Time + Binondo Church + Quick Trip to Divisoria

Last weekend flew by fast and the hubby and I were fine by it. After all, we both felt rested and we got to do stuff. On Saturday, we stayed home and bonded with my extended family. On Sunday, we, along with SIL Albie, went to Binondo Church and Divisoria. Then we had dinner at Side Walk Fud Hub with my SIL and my two sisters Jodie and Nyam.

In Divisoria, I tried looking for shower curtains and Mame’s house clothes (mahigpit ang bilin nya, yung terno daw dapat!) but didn’t find any of them. I ended up buying things for myself instead (which was bad for my wallet). I got new undies and this popular Bali bag whose front design I couldn’t resist. Haaay, parang ang hina ng EQ ko this year! Parang gusto ko na tuloy ulit magshopping fast, haha.

Weekend Story: Monasterio de Santa Clara Katipunan+ Pelina Shoes Marikina + Din Tai Fung BGC + ATC with Family

Last weekend was quite an adventure. On Saturday, the hubby and I drove to Monasterio de Santa Clara in Katipunan to say some prayers. From there, we went all the way to Marikina to go shoe shopping at Pelina Shoes. It’s a shoe factory/shoe shop that sells women’s ballet flats, mules, sandals, and slippers in various designs. (We also saw a few pairs of loafers for men there.) We then headed for BGC to take our chance with Shake Shack but ended up dining at Din Tai Fung because the queue at the former was super long, as in.

Weekend Story: Mother’s Day Celebration + National Elections 2019

Last long weekend was busy but fun and meaningful. It was Mother’s Day on Sunday so I planned something special for Mame. She just wanted to take a dip in the pool (she loves to swim float, lol) but I wanted more for her because she deserved it. I initially wanted to take her to the beach but the beach resorts we liked in Batangas were mostly fully booked. There were open slots for day tours but the hubby said nakakapagod mag-drive at di sulit kung balikan lang kami. I looked some more until I came across this Mother’s Day promo posted on the FB page of Batangas Country Club (BCC) which consisted of an overnight stay for a family of four with breakfast and a free dinner buffet and massage for mom, all for just PhP4,500 nett. It was a great deal so I booked it right away. It turned out to be a relaxing staycation for Mame, my sister Jodie, the hubby, and me.

Weekend Story: Embracing Simplicity

Last weekend was quiet and simple. We stayed home to rest. We went out of the house to do some errands and unwind a bit. We spent time with my extended family. We took care of and were amused by Jasper our pet dog. It was kinda fun and invigorating.

I just love simple weekends. I actually don’t like making many weekend plans. I prefer going with the flow or just following where the hubby wants to go. I get excited with spontaneous trips to places I haven’t been to. But as much as possible, I want to limit my activities to going to the wet market and cooking, activities I enjoy doing most. I also enjoy cleaning up my stuff (read: decluttering) but it’s something I want to prepare for, mentally and physically, so I could give my best to it and see good results.

Weekend Story: A Christening, A Birthday, and A Few Other Stuff

Last long weekend was quite hectic. On Saturday, the hubby and I, along with Mame, went to the wet market in the morning to buy fresh produce. We also drove to Alabang in the afternoon to hear mass and go malling. Actually, it was just Mame and I who roamed around Alabang Town Center (ATC) because the hubby met up with his car club friends at this restaurant within the Filinvest area and he just picked us up at the mall when it was time for us to go home.

On Sunday, our first activity was the christening of a friend’s miracle baby scheduled around lunchtime. (The event was filled with good vibes and I even cried a little hearing the very emotional prayer of our friend mostly expressing her immense joy for finally having a child after so many years of trying to conceive. God really has wonderful plans for all of us!) We would then join the family at night for the birthday dinner of my brother Dan at…where else but our new fave Betoy’s Restaurant Molino! 😛
