Weekend Story: Hospital Staycation + Biking + Family Bonding

Last weekend took us by surprise. On Friday night, we had a “hospital staycation” because my FIL suddenly got sick. He had a vomiting episode and was having severe stomach cramps. My MIL accompanied him to the hospital to see his kidney doctor (he’s been taking meds for kidney stones because he’s been refusing to undergo surgery since 2013) for fear that the kidney stones themselves were the culprit. After asking my FIL some questions, the doctor ordered his admission to the hospital for further observation and just so he wouldn’t get dehydrated as he looked pale already.

My FIL got admitted to the hospital on Friday night and was discharged after 24 hours. Apparently, he just had a case of indigestion and his kidney stones didn’t have anything to do with it. Thank goodness for that! Haaay, buti na lang talaga kasi nagpa-panic na ang panganay nya (a.k.a. the hubby). I’d like to assume we all had a good night’s sleep on Saturday night after a short stay at the hospital.

Weekend Story: Malling in Alabang + History Convention 2016 + Work on a Holiday

Long weekends are love! And I say that even if I had to go to work yesterday. The hubby and I were already in Bacoor as early as Friday night. We spent most of our Saturday at home and just drove to Alabang at night to hear mass and do some malling. On Sunday, I accompanied the hubby in checking out the History Convention 2016 at World Trade Center (WTC), Pasay City. After that, we met up with my in-laws at Toyota Manila Bay before going home in Manila.

Below are some of the things that added color to our weekend:

Weekend Story: Swimming in the Rain

Last weekend was a rainy weekend. There was no typhoon but the heavy rains that kept pouring on the ground felt like one. There was nothing more safe and convenient to do but to stay at home. We, however, was out early on Saturday to go swimming in Pansol for a cousin’s son’s birthday party. Family comes first, you know. Haha.

In fairness, nung nasa SLEX kami, wala masyadong ulan.

Weekend Story: Bacoor Staycation + MIL’s Birthday Celebration

It’s funny how I always consider going home in Bacoor as a “staycation.” You cannot blame me, though, given our current living arrangement. After all, it’s just the the hubby and me there and our room is as cozy as we wanted it to be. Plus, it’s air-conditioned! (Our room at my PILs’ place isn’t.) Well, I guess such a little luxury makes a big difference especially in this tropical country of ours. The fact that we only get to enjoy it during weekends (and not if we miss going home for the weekend) make it sweeter. I highly doubt I’d appreciate having an air-con room as much as I do now if I get to enjoy the comfort of an air-con room every night. Oh, the beauty of rarity!

That’s why I’m glad last weekend was another Bacoor staycation. We arrived home on Friday night and left for Manila on Sunday afternoon for a family dinner at Sincerity Cafe & Restaurant (Lucky Chinatown Mall branch) to celebrate my MIL’s 68th birthday!

Weekend Story: Chill and More Chill

Last weekend was all about rest. We weren’t able to go biking because 1)the hubby had class in grad school and 2)the weather was gloomy. So, we just did the next best thing — chill. And more chill! In our Bacoor home, that is.

We drove home on Saturday night and went back to Manila early morning of Monday. It was one of those weekends that we just ate, slept, cuddled, and minded our own business. It couldn’t be any better than that!
