On Making Checklists

I used to rely on my sharp memory in getting tasks done. I noticed, though, that as I get older, my memory gets poorer and poorer and my attention span, shorter and shorter. This is where to-do lists or better yet, checklists, come in handy.

My work in the office requires me to remember things. Part of my job is doing secretarial tasks for my boss (EA lang ang peg!) which means I need to take note of her many commands and requests. In order to deliver outputs and reduce failures, I’ve thought of listing down the tasks I need to finish, from the urgent ones to those with flexible deadlines.

I Need a Wedding Checklist

It looks like I really need my own wedding checklist as my big day comes closer and closer. You know the feeling when you’re overly excited and at the same time you’re having big expectations and only giving yourself very little room for error? That’s what I’m feeling exactly right now. I feel like I’m about to do something big and yet my heart is beating louder and louder due to anxiety and nervousness. Not a nice, great feeling, I tell you. But it’s there, and I can’t help it.

That’s why a wedding checklist has to be made. It will contain all the things that the fiancé and I need to accomplish. I’m just glad and thankful that so far, everything’s been doing good. We just need to make some confirmations and follow-ups and we will be okay. At least, that’s how I see it.

Busy Weekend Ahead

Despite the fact that the coming weekend is gonna be super busy for me, I still feel like saying TGIF! I just love Friday, no questions asked. Traffic may be bad/worse/worst (depends on the location, actually) during this day but you know, it’s a sad reality that people in Manila have come to accept and live with through the years.

Aaargh, we have work in the office tomorrow! I wish my boss changes her mind about it. Originally, I had plans for tomorrow to go to our Cavite house but since we were asked to report for work, I had to fix my sched right there and then. Sunday is equally hectic because we have a wedding-related appointment to attend to and I have work at the restaurant come dinnertime.

Preoccupied

Have you ever experienced being at a certain place, like your workplace, for instance, and suddenly you feel the urge to do a lot of things which can only be done in other places away from your present position? That’s what I’m feeling right now. I wanna do (and that’s with a very excited and positive attitude!) the following things right at this moment:

1. Go to the bank and deposit some money to my savings account. The last time I did this was May 2011, exactly five months ago. I know I’ve been very generous lately that it seems I have forgotten to care about my savings.

2. Change my foreign currencies (from my recent trip abroad) to local ones. I tried to do this last Sunday but I was not able to because I was hoping the forex rates would still rise in my favor in the coming days. Not so possible, I know.

So Many Things To Do, So Little Time

It’s Friday and tomorrow’s gonna be the start of the long weekend. I can’t wait! I have tons of things I wanna do. As much as I want to get a loooot of rest, my head is brimming with ideas on how best to spend my time. The saying “so many things to do, so little time,” rings so true at this point.

Tomorrow morning, I plan to cook fried rice for breakfast. During my previous grocery shopping, I made sure to get some Chinese sausages. We all know how they can transform simple fried rice into delicious and complete meals. I’m so excited to finally use them. I just hope I can move my ass to go to Quiapo early to buy some fresh veggies to include in my fried rice. Sorry, but I prefer them over the frozen mixed veggies bought from supermarkets.
