Last weekend was slow and quiet. The hubby and I were almost homebound except for the time we went to the wet market on Saturday morning (with Mame) and heard mass in the afternoon of that same day (just the two of us). We spent a lot of our time doing household chores, eating, Netflixing, and sleeping. I’d love to have more weekends like this!
Weekend Story: Bonding with my Parents + My First Pair of Converse Shoes
I dream of a time when I could date my parents every week. I have always believed that family always comes first and that just spending time with them is one of the happiest and most worthwhile things I could do in life. That’s why I’m glad I got to spend the weekend with my parents. The hubby and I drove to Bacoor with them on Friday night, right after we had family dinner at a Chinese restaurant to celebrate Edwin’s 39th birthday.
Our weekend turned out to be fun and as laidback as it should be except for the side pasyal to BiƱan City in Laguna on Saturday afternoon to visit my aunt and my two cousins (one of them is an OFW who has just come back from Bahrain for a short vacation). After catching up with just my aunt because my cousins had previous commitments, we took home some pasalubongs. It was getting late so we had a stop over at Nuvali in Sta. Rosa City to have dinner pa pala. Banapple was my personal choice because I only get to taste their popular banoffie pie whenever I’m in the area. Haha.

Weekend Story: Rainy, Windy, and Muddy
Last weekend was not so bad despite the onslaught of the typhoon (Ompong) and its aftermath. The hubby and I drove home in Bacoor on Friday night and went back to Manila on Sunday night. We were just at home doing household chores, eating, Netflix-ing, and cuddling because, maginaw, hahaha. When the rains and the winds stopped on Saturday afternoon (but it was muddy everywhere!), we went out of the house to do all these stuff: hear the anticipated mass, refuel the car, buy water, have dinner at Betoy’s restaurant (Molino branch), go to Evia (the mall), and get some supplies at Rustan’s supermarket located in the same mall.
Weekend Story: CSC R.A.C.E. to Serve Fun Run 2018 + Cafe Lidia + Taytay Tiangge
Last weekend was quite hectic but fun, exhausting but filled with happy memories. The hubby and I drove home in Bacoor on Friday night and stayed there overnight. We were back in Manila on Saturday night. We would then spend Sunday doing some worthwhile activities: fun running for me and biking for the hubby, dining at Cafe Lidia in Marikina with my in-laws, and shopping at the popular Taytay Tiangge with them as well.

Weekend Story: Balikbayan Box Surprise + Bonding Time with My In-Laws
Last weekend, the hubby and I were able to make the most of our time together despite the bad weather due to typhoon Josie. On Saturday, my PILs received a balikbayan box from their family friends in the US. (Thank you again Flor family for the treats and goodies!) Later that day, my in-laws decided to join us in Bacoor for the weekend with a stop-over at Mall of Asia (MOA).
The boys watched PBA live at MOA Arena while the girls had dinner and did some shopping at the mall. We stayed in Bacoor until Sunday afternoon and drove to Manila at nighttime so we wouldn’t have to endure the heavy traffic the next day. Actually, the provincial government of Cavite had already put the province under a state of calamity during that time and so we were quite worried na rin. It proved to be a good decision because the heavy rains would continue to pour all throughout Cavite until Monday as reported in the news, submerging many towns there in knee-deep flood (some parts of Bacoor included).

Weekend Story: Islas Pinas + Virgin Lab Fest 14
Last weekend was highlighted by experiences that were a delight to the senses. On Saturday, the hubby and I checked out the newest food park in town — Islas Pinas at Double Dragon Plaza in Pasay City. Then we, along with my brother Dan, watched the Set D (composed of three independent plays) of the Virgin Lab Fest XIV held at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) before driving home in Bacoor. We would meet up with my in-laws to dine at Islas Pinas again on Sunday night before going back to Manila.
