Dieting Blues

The past weeks have been quite gloomy for me when it comes to dieting. My weight has been stuck at this particular measurement that not’s worth mentioning. It would change one or two pounds lower one day, but would go back to the old measurement the next day. Bummer. I complained about this to a friend and she said I’m still lucky I don’t gain weight continuously. My weight just changes a little and then goes back, and that’s it.

I had recently devised a plan of going into serious diet mode during the weekends but it didn’t work. I almost always ended up overeating during the weekends. Good for my husband, but bad for me. Or should I say, the plan was bad in the first place? I forgot to consider the fact that weekends are the only time I get to cook, and that whenever I’m cooking, my appetite instantly gets awakened.

Musical Instruments as Home Decors

Musical instruments are meant to be played. But in some houses where the people who bought them have stopped playing them, or are away to use them, musical instruments become home decors. Pianos, for instance, are natural home decors. They are usually seen in the living room of affluent families here in Manila.

If our house were bigger, I would have placed a guitar in the living room as wall accent, complete with the exciting Alfred Guitar Tablature at musician’s friend. But we live in a tiny space, and having a guitar lying somewhere is definitely not a good decorating idea.

New Tasks at Work

When you are given new tasks at work, it means people view you as a trustworthy and efficient worker. With or without promotion, getting new tasks is a challenge that needs to be faced with open mind and positive attitude.

I’ve recently been given new tasks by our boss and I think I’m managing it quite well. While promotion is a far-fetched idea for me (what with the system we have at work where high positions are limited and the senior workers get the upper hand on them), I took it as an opportunity to show how qualified I am for the job.

Blame Me Not

When you’re swamped with work and things suddenly get out of control, you solve the problem right away and fix whatever could be fixed. You don’t blame other people for your failure. Why does it have to be somebody else’s fault ALL THE TIME when it’s your job and your responsibility we’re talking about in the first place?

I’m not referring to somebody at my workplace, just to be clear. Haha. I’m just talking about real life scenarios wherein some people forget that they are accountable for their actions. And that every problem has a solution, no matter how big it is. You just have to accept the fact that there is a problem and then do something to solve it.

Friends Forever

I’m not the friendly type of girl. In fact, I normally get the impression of being either suplada (snobbish) or mahiyain (shy) from people. But once we have gotten along, you’ll see me as a jolly and genuine person. I bet I can make you laugh, too. (My husband has a better sense of humor than I have, though.)

I have many friends, but the ones close to me are just few. Those few close friends that I have, I really treasure and take care of our friendship. I may not be always on their side or see them often, but they know I’m just here and I’ll be there when they’d need me. I am constantly updated of their lives thru social media. I take pride of their achievements and get sad when they have experienced or experiencing something bad.

Online Sellers of Handcrafted Stuff

I wish to put up my own business in the future. I don’t have the capital now that’s why I want to pursue this dream a little later in my life. For now, I’ll just enjoy the feeling of being mighty proud of my two friends who have recently opened their online business. They sell handcrafted stuff. My friend Adel makes pretty headbands for little girls while my superfriend Nice makes bags, cellphone cases, purses and organizers for everyone who needs them.

Just type in “Peekabow” for Adel’s and “Nicely Crafted” for Nice’s on the search bar. If you’re buying in bulk to give away to your friends, they might just offer you wholesale prices on your order. Don’t forget to tell them that you found them through me!
