Mistakes are a part of life.

I’ve made a lot of mistakes in the past, and I continue to make them until the present time. Do I feel bad about it? No, because mistakes are as much a part of life as the air I breathe, the food I eat and the people I meet. That rhymes, huh! Haha.

The good thing about mistakes is that we could learn from them. Each mistake leaves a lesson that could last us a lifetime. Each mistake makes us a stronger or better version of ourselves. Each mistake leads us to new discoveries about things and our perspectives in life.

It’s a Brand New Day

The previous days were messy, awful and just plain scary. Typhoon Maring and Habagat have once again proven just how vulnerable we are to the forces of nature. That in just one snap, families could be homeless, properties could be destroyed and lives could be taken. Thank God we’re all safe now and enjoying a brand new day!

Our recent typhoon experience as a couple proved to be manageable albeit scary, too. We were at home in Bacoor last weekend and when the rains poured hard Sunday night, our house almost got flooded. We were very alert at that time and started transferring furniture and stuff upstairs. We really prepared for the worse. It was a good thing we bought a two-storey town house, otherwise we won’t have a place to keep our things safe and dry.

Kiddie parties are fun and meaningful.

I’ve always enjoyed attending kiddie parties, may it be held in a posh restaurant, a fast food store, a club house or even just at home. I actually dream of hosting a birthday party for my future kid. If I could have it my way, I want it to be a DIY kind of party, with beautiful things scattered all over the place. Oh well, that’s just the creative and fun-loving momma in me.

Kiddie parties are fun. The program, the parlor games, the birthday wishes, the blowing of candles on the birthday cake, the singing of the universal Happy Birthday song to the celebrant, everything about a kiddie party spells of fun and happy moments that last a lifetime. I can’t wait for the time that I’ll be sharing this wonderful experience with my future kid.

Review: Happy Plus Card

The Happy Plus Card is an electronic card used for payment in four quick service restaurants here in Manila which are owned by a single company, Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC). It was launched in the first quarter of 2012 and is powered by BPI. As I understand it, it’s JFC’s way of offering a cashless payment service to their loyal customers. This also comes with rewards which serve as a good attraction for more people to get and use the said card.

It’s pretty easy to get a Happy Plus Card. You go to either a Jollibee, Chow King, Greenwich or Red Ribbon store and pay P100 for it. The card is good for three years and is renewable for the same price. Now that you have the card, the next step is to buy load from the cashier with the minimum amount at P100 and the maximum, P10,000. With your card now loaded with credits, use your card by ordering food from the cashier and tapping the card on the electronic machine to pay.

Tipid Mode

Weekends are a great opportunity to slow down. To do simple things that make you and your loved ones happy. To just sit back and relax. To unwind and take everything lightly. To rest while we still can. Because before we know it, work is staring us in the eye again.

Weekends are also a time when we get to spend more money than usual. Like when going to the mall to dine out, watch a movie or simply to shop. This long weekend is no different for my husband and me. We’re staying home and do not have any agenda to go out of town. We’re on tipid mode, after all. (In English, tipid means to observe prudence in spending or to tighten one’s belt.)

Positive Vibes

People need positive vibes. From the moment I wake up, I smile and thank God for the gift of life. I try to think of happy thoughts and feel positive. When I do that, my day becomes better. As in, always better.

But there are times when I get depressed and anxious about things. Days when I feel like my life is a mess and things are not turning into what I expect them to be. That’s when positive vibes disappear and are replaced by negative energies.
