Weekend Guests

Since we only get to stay at our marital home in Bacoor during weekends (the perk of having parents living in Manila who let us sleep over their place during weekdays), it’s been sort of a normal thing for us to have weekend guests. I, however, only invite family members or close friends to join us for the weekend on occasions because I treasure our “couple time” so much. After all, we only get to play our respective roles as husband and wife freely and seriously at our marital home during weekends.

Last weekend, we had my parents as guests. Actually, the plan was to visit our family home in Naic for some general cleaning (my parents stay with my three unmarried siblings in Manila to take care of their household needs). The last time we were there to clean the house prior to this visit was around August so you could imagine how dusty and dirty it was when we arrived. After bringing back order and cleanliness there, we left immediately and headed to Bacoor to spend the rest of the weekend there.

I love taking care of our weekend guests so the first thing I did when we got home was to bring out my baking ingredients and made some calzones (will blog about this on a separate post soon). It was my first attempt at this folded pizza so I was happy to know the two big ones I baked got wiped out in minutes! Haha.

On Saturday night, we took my parents to Evia Lifestyle Center in Daang Hari, Las Piñas City. It’s a pretty cool place to hang out. It has a Rustan’s supermarket, an Ace Hardware, a McDonald’s and a Starbucks. More stores are opening soon. I think I saw a Shakey’s store being constructed in one corner.

My mom and I did some grocery shopping at Rustan’s supermarket and after that, we all entered Starbucks for some frap. My parents liked it there but felt cold immediately after finishing their fraps. They both asked us to go home right after. Haha.

Sunday was the usual. We heard the morning mass and spent the rest of the day at home. Oh, the hubby and I actually went to a birthday party in the afternoon and left our guests to fend for themselves for a few hours. It was held at Blackbeard’s Seafood Island-The District in Imus.

When we came back, my mom and I spent hours just chatting away upstairs while my dad and the hubby were glued on the TV watching their fave sport (read: basketball) in the living room downstairs. I always feel like a young child when I’m with my mom. She has this soothing and rejuvenating effect on me. Well, I guess all mothers are like that.

Overall, it was one relaxing and fun weekend and I’m glad I was able to spend it with my parents. 🙂
