Buffet Restaurants in Tagaytay

So far, I only know of three restaurants that offer buffet in Tagaytay. They are Bag of Beans, Sonya’s Garden and Celina’s Cafe and Restaurant. Among them, I’ve only tried the last one. Theirs is a lunch buffet price at P325 per head plus 3% city government tax. From what I gathered online, Bag of Beans offer brunch buffet during weekends at P495 nett per pax while Sonya’s Garden serves set menu (eat-all-you-can) for lunch and dinner at P683 per person.

The lunch buffet at Celina’s Cafe and Restaurant, based from my dining experience last Saturday, was quite good and affordable, too. The hubby and I, along with my parents, enjoyed simple, home-cooked meals in a cozy setting with a nice view of the famous Taal Lake. The building where the buffet was served and the restroom that caters to the guests need some serious maintenance, though.

Dieting in the Office

I find it hard to limit my food intake during weekends. It’s really hard because that’s the only time we get to dine out and the only time I get to cook a lot. So, imagine my relief to be in the office all weekdays where I can watch what I eat and control my portions. Yes, dieting in the office seems to work for me.

In the office, we get free packed meals during lunch time. While I appreciate the fact that they’re given to us for free (subsidized by our office, no less), I appreciate it more that they’re usually boring and tasteless. I get to eat only a small portion of it and sometimes, none at all. (Don’t worry, it doesn’t go to waste nor do I get hungry because I bring the packed meal to my in-laws’ place where the hubby and I have lunch together every weekday.) So, it’s either I let my husband eat it and then I eat the available food at my in-law’s kitchen. Or, the hubby and I don’t eat the packed meal and let the house dog (hello Ondoy!) feed on it and then we eat the available food in the house. Smart, right?

There’s a Lot to Improve On

When you’re doing a job for more than a decade already, it’s safe to assume that you’re now at a certain level of competency at it. But then, that’s not always the case. There are some people who never learn. People who remain semi-capable or worse, incapable, of doing their job despite the length of time they’ve been doing the same old tasks. How frustrating can that be for the people who work with them?

As for me, I’m happy to report that I’ve already developed a system when it comes to how I do things at work. But just like what I learned from the 3-day seminar I attended last month, one should never be too complacent. There’s still a lot to improve on in whatever you do. In my line of work, I know there are still some things I’m not adept at and that’s why I continue to work on it. I never stop finding ways on how to do things more efficiently.

Learning About the Stock Market

I happened to get a copy of Bo Sanchez’s e-book entitled, “My Maid Invests in the Stock Market…And Why You Should, Too!” I read it last week and learned some good investment-related wisdom. It even made me want to invest in the stock market pronto. I think I’ll get to that sooner or later. For now, I’ll save up more money first.

Bo Sanchez’s explanation is pretty plain and simple. He made me understand how the stock market works. He made me find out how I too, can earn money from it. Just like what his three domestic helpers do at present. However, I still have a lot of questions left unanswered. Things like, how long should I keep my shares in a certain company for it to be qualified to earn a dividend? Or how much money should I invest in the stock market for me to gain an average profit? Or how long would it take for me to really gain a profit?

Cafe Breton Favorites

Back when I was still a working student living with my aunt in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, I was able to dine at Cafe Breton – Paseo de Sta. Rosa for a few times. I was always with my older cousin then (hello Ate Hazel!) and she was always the one treating me as I still couldn’t afford it with my meager student allowance. My order would always be this dessert crepe filled with fresh mangoes, topped with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with rich chocolate sauce. It’s called La Pinay.

Yesterday, when we were in Tagaytay and checking out The Cliffhouse, I suggested we dine at Cafe Breton so I could order my all-time favorite there. You bet it was the La Pinay crepe. Haha. Good thing my three companions composing of my husband and my parents were understanding. So, my mom and I shared the crepe and all four of us ordered drinks. My parents both got cappuccino while the husband settled for an ice cream shake (chocolate).

Post Valentine’s Day Celebration: Double Date in Tagaytay

This morning, the hubby and I went to a double date with my parents in Tagaytay. We met them up at McDonald’s St-Dominic in Bacoor and after having breakfast there, we drove straight to the country’s second summer capital. Upon arriving there, we were welcomed by the chilly breeze. I liked that there was still no traffic but more people were already starting to come out in groups.

It was my parents’ first time in Tagaytay. So, we took tons of pictures for posterity’s sake. For lunch, we availed of the eat-and-drink-all-you-can offering of Celina’s Cafe and Restaurant. Price was P325 per head plus 3% city government tax. The food was okay but nothing special, just your simple home-cooked meals. What we appreciated more was the setting, it was cozy enough and gave us a nice view of the famous Taal Lake.
