Shopping Fast: October Report

Note: I started my self-imposed shopping ban on January 1, 2014. I made it official online through this post, and called it a “shopping fast.” I also shared there the reasons why I took the challenge and laid down some rules to guide me while on it.

I love you, November! I’ve been waiting for you since January. Good thing you’re here now. It just means I’m on the verge of finishing this challenge. Just a few more weeks to go! But before I revel in the thought of a successful 11-month long shopping fast (ehem), let me report on how October, my birth month, went.

First off, I absolutely did NO shopping. (It has become a lot easier for me, actually.) But since I celebrated my birthday last month, I did receive a few presents aside from the Lacoste bag I got from the hubby:

From an officemate: a cellphone pouch (I really needed one!)

From my mom: a pair of faux pearl earrings (aren’t they cute?)

From my sister Nyam: love this pair because it makes my feet look small with its garterized straps!

At this point, I don’t have much to say except that I’m overjoyed. I have resisted shopping for 10 months and I think it’s an achievement in itself. How come it’s easy for me not to shop and yet I’m having a hard time resisting food and losing weight? Haha. Oh well, I’m just so glad this challenge is about to end! Yipeeee!
