Weekend Story: Biking with Friends + Carbohydrate Addiction

These days, the hubby and I get to bike on weekends and we truly enjoy this activity. Last weekend, for instance, we spent our Sunday biking in Bacoor and Las Piñas with my two officemates and a couple of their friends. For this particular ride, we biked a total of 36.2 kms. This is our longest, so far. I can’t wait to break our personal record!

As for Saturday, it was boring. As in I slept almost the entire day. (The hubby went to school in the afternoon.) My body was telling me I was about to catch a cold so I thought of getting lots of sleep to boost my immune system. It turned out to be a good decision because the next day, I was able to bike. Haha.

In other news, I think I have reasons to believe that I’m a carbohydrate addict. I took the Carbohydrate Addict test through this book and the result was moderate addiction:

book

Waaaaaaaaaaaah!

What’s in a carbohydrate addict’s diet? Basically, it’s composed of two complementary meals (food without carbohydrates) and one reward meal (carbohydrate-rich food) every day. The diet varies according to your weight loss goal and falls under four plans (A,B,C, and D). I am still undecided if I’ll do this diet but if ever, I’ll blog about it to share my experience to those people interested to learn more about it.

Contrary to popular belief, not all overweight people are carbohydrate addicts. In fact, even people with normal weight can have this kind of addiction without them knowing it. Kaloka, diba?

And because my weekend posts almost always have food photos, here are two and my realizations on them:

peanuts
I have the patience to crack/peel this huge bowl of boiled peanuts (kept most of the peeled ones in the ref for later consumption!)

nuggets
it was my first time to eat McDo chicken nuggets; I liked the taste of the nuggets and the sauce that came with it!

The hubby and I drove back to Manila on Sunday afternoon for no apparent reason. Another weekend to remember!

Happy Monday, friends! 🙂

May you choose happiness always,

    1. You’re biking, too! Cool. The weather last Sunday here when we went biking was cooperative. A bit cold even if it was already 9AM so we enjoyed a lot. 🙂

  1. It’s still too cold out here to bike, but I’m jealous with the weather there.

    I love carbs and I can’t live without it…lol.

    1. Sorry if I made you jealous, haha. You’ll have your time to enjoy biking there soon, Kayni! Re: carbs, likewise. 🙂

  2. Wow, 36.2 kms! Ang galing naman. I hope to be able to bike kahit na 5kms man lang in this lifetime! Hahaha. And good to see na meron pa ring terrains around Bacoor and maybe Las Pinas? Di puro cemented roads.

Wala akong idea sa biking pero mahal ba to complete the bike and gears?

    1. Salamat, Mylene! Sus, sisiw lang sayo ang 5km! Marunong ka naman magbike, ano? May mura, may mahal. 🙂

  3. Before my husband and I got married, a friend told us that we should have a common hobby like biking, mountaineering etc. so that we won’t get bored. Until now, wala pa kaming common hobby. As in wala talaga. Kahit choice of movies and tv programs, magkaiba. hehe. Good for you, nahanap ninyo na mapagkakaabalahan ninyo.

    1. Thank you, sis! What your friend told you makes sense, ha. Kaya you guys still click even though you have different interests. Diba? 🙂
