Webhosting Trouble

I just found out this morning that a part of this blog’s backup has been lost. I checked this blog’s content and learned that my previous posts starting March 9, 2013 up to yesterday have disappeared. I panicked because I didn’t have a backup of those.

I contacted my webhost provider and he said he did something wrong and was trying to correct it. I knew these things happen so I didn’t make a big deal out of it. I just rewrote everything from memory. Good thing I still have them inside my head, although just the short cut versions.

A Well-Spent Day

Don’t you wish all your days are well-spent? If that is the case, then maybe there are more reasons to be happy about. A well-spent day for me is one where I am not only productive but also doing meaningful things for myself and for the people I love. Or just a plain day spent doing crazy things with the people dearest to me.

Busy or not, the day should be well-spent in such a way that the overall experience becomes so enriching and unforgettable at the same time. Unfortunately, it’s not every day that we get to experience a well-spent day. There are days that are forgettable and there are days that are regrettable. When our attitude becomes sour or goes downhill, or the circumstances surrounding our day become uncontrollable or go for the worse, we are left with very limited options to make our day right.

Getting Fit with Zumba

Zumba is a Colombian dance fitness program developed in the 1990s. It combines Latin and international music for a more fun and interesting workout. A lot of people swears by its effectiveness in losing weight and getting those shapely curves.

I first tried zumba during a fitness event I attended before. A friend reintroduced me to this unique form of exercise a few weeks go and when I tried it again, I got hooked. Actually, I just wanted to lose weight and harness my dancing skills (or lack thereof). Haha.

Shopping for Bags Online

Instagram (or IG for short) being a social media site is now a venue for online sellers to reach out to a bigger market. I have actually found an online seller there selling stylish but affordable bags.

I followed @iamshopaholicmom at IG and bought three new bags from her ( a tote bag, a satchel and a drawstring). I liked how easy it was to deal with her and the shipping was faster than I had expected. It was also love at first sight when I first laid my eyes on the bags. The quality was superb and the material used (high quality synthetic leather) looked expensive-looking.

Pasta Craving on a Weekend

These days, weekends are the only time I get to experiment in the kitchen. Like yesterday when I whipped up a simple sardine pasta recipe.

This dish was inspired by my brother. It’s his favorite. I suddenly remembered him and thought about this pasta dish. I checked our pantry for ingredients and when I found what I needed, I started cooking immediately.

Book Review: The Politics of Stupid by Susan Powter

I got this book from BookSale for a very cheap price of P20 during one of my trips there. Susan Powter is an Australian motivational speaker, nutritionist, personal trainer and best-selling author. In “The Politics of Stupid,” she talks about weight loss and how to do it right.

Susan Powter herself on the cover of her own book!

In the book, Powter unabashedly claimed that “dieting doesn’t work.” I think I’ll have to agree with her on that but only if we’re talking about the long term effects. You see, my GM Diet worked because I lost a total of 7 lbs. when I finished the 7-day diet plan. Which made me believe that dieting helps especially if you just want to “jumpstart” your weight loss. But I digress.
