Weekend Story: Imus Cathedral + Father’s Day Celebration

Last weekend was another weekend to remember. It was fun and relaxing and beautiful and memorable. I couldn’t ask for more.

Last Saturday was actually the hubby’s first day back in graduate school. He was excited and optimistic like his other classmates but after realizing that his two profs this semester were very strict, his happy feelings dissipated. Haha.

Weekend Story: Official Trip to Iloilo + Couple Time in Alabang

I left Manila for Iloilo City Thursday of last week. It was an official trip that saw my officemates and I working as a team to ensure the success of our event there. It turned out to be a smashing success, praise the Lord. Everything went well and we were very thankful to the people from the provincial government who made our work easier.

Iloilo is a bustling province. I never imagined it to be that way. My trip there made me realize, more than anything, that strong political will is still possible. And that unity among the government, the private sector, and the people is a must for a certain place to achieve progress and sustainable growth.

Weekend Story: At Home in Manila

The hubby and I have been missing our Bacoor home already. It’s been weeks that we haven’t visited it. I don’t know if the few plants in our plant box are still alive or not. I don’t know how our lone Malunggay tree is coping to the “dry” situation (though I have a feeling it will continue to thrive).

On a related note, our office clothes are of the same set. We just wash them during weekends for use in the next work week. Sorry, TMI. I don’t know if my officemates are already noticing my clothes, but what the heck. Haha. The good news is, we are going home tonight. Wohoo!

Weekend Story: Wedding in Batangas + Typical Sunday in Manila

Last weekend was special. The hubby and I may have not been able to go home in Bacoor but we had a happy and relaxing time in Manila with my in-laws. I, for one, had the chance to witness one of the simplest yet most intimate weddings, ever.

On Saturday, I traveled all the way to Lipa City in Batangas to attend my officemate and dear friend Gerlie’s wedding. (She finally married her childhood sweetheart after a decade of being in a relationship.) The wedding ceremony was held at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Parish and the reception followed at the main hall of Mt. Malarayat Golf and Country Club. The hubby wasn’t able to join me because he was still recovering from flu then. (He’s okay now, thank God!)

Weekend Story: A Baguio Holiday

After several years, the hubby and I have finally gone back to Baguio. This time around, my sister Jodie tagged along with us. It was her first time to visit Baguio and it seemed she had a blast even if it was just an overnight trip. Availing a vacation package from Edel’s Travel & Tours (this was our joke the entire time we were in Baguio!), she enjoyed the City of Pines by checking out as much tourist spots as our time and energy could handle.

We stayed at Baguio Holiday Villas (BHV) on Legarda Road. It’s been our hotel of choice ever since the hubby and I first visited Baguio as a couple several years ago. We just love it there! The cozy vibe, the lush gardens in front of the villas, the very good service, the location, the low rates, the cleanliness, and a few more things. In short, we highly recommend it. Haha.

Weekend Story: Family Outing + Work on a Sunday

Last weekend was super fun. Well, scratch that. The fun only happened on Saturday because we had a family outing. Sunday was a different ballgame. I had to go to work and though I was quite productive, lazing away on a Sunday is still waaaaaay better. Haha.

So, we went home in Bacoor with my in-laws on Friday night. The next day, Saturday, we woke up early, packed our things and drove to Kalipayan Hotel and Resort in Dasmariñas, Cavite. We got there at 7am-ish. After paying our entrance fees (P200 per head) and renting the same kubo (P600, good for 12 persons) that we stayed in during our previous visit last Holy Week, we started unpacking our stuff.
