Weekend Story: Tagaytay Trip + Condo Visit with Baby NJ

I guess up until our rainbow baby is at least two years old and tiny no more, I’m gonna call her “baby NJ” on this blog. I still can’t believe how we got so lucky for having a baby at this point in my and the hubby’s married life and at this juncture in world history where COVID-19 has changed the way people do things and look at life in general. But before I become more emo, let me talk about the long weekend that passed.

Our long weekend was extra special because the hubby and I got to take baby NJ to Tagaytay, her first out-of-town trip that involved no doctors and vaccines, haha. She wasn’t able to have a picture with the famous Taal Lake though, because the two establishments we visited — Cliffhouse and Bag of Beans — didn’t allow entry to people 15 years old and below in compliance with IATF health protocols. Actually, we never planned to dine inside those restos, we just wanted her to have a decent photo with the famous lake, but to no avail.

Weekend Story: FIL’s Birthday Celebration

Last weekend was not so good for a lot of our countrymen because of the after-effects of typhoon Ulysses. My heart goes out to my fellow Filipinos who have been severely affected by this massive storm that hit the Philippines last Thursday. To those who have been spared or minimally affected, let us help in any way we can. There’s so much we can do, really. Nakakalungkot talaga. Hanggang ngayon, andami pa ring nangangailangan ng tulong lalo na sa Cagayan at Isabela. Pero sabi nga, laban lang tayo. Kapit lang. God is good all the time.

Weekend Story: More Rest and Family Time

Last weekend was ordinary but fun. The hubby and I spent it resting and bonding with our extended families at home. I think we only went out to go to church and the supermarket and to dine out because my sister Nyam wanted to treat us to dinner and coffee (who are we to decline, right?). I love weekends like this that don’t require a lot of thinking and planning. Busy weekends are okay with me, too, as long as I’m doing things with the people I love.

Weekend Story: Family Time + Binondo Church + Quick Trip to Divisoria

Last weekend flew by fast and the hubby and I were fine by it. After all, we both felt rested and we got to do stuff. On Saturday, we stayed home and bonded with my extended family. On Sunday, we, along with SIL Albie, went to Binondo Church and Divisoria. Then we had dinner at Side Walk Fud Hub with my SIL and my two sisters Jodie and Nyam.

In Divisoria, I tried looking for shower curtains and Mame’s house clothes (mahigpit ang bilin nya, yung terno daw dapat!) but didn’t find any of them. I ended up buying things for myself instead (which was bad for my wallet). I got new undies and this popular Bali bag whose front design I couldn’t resist. Haaay, parang ang hina ng EQ ko this year! Parang gusto ko na tuloy ulit magshopping fast, haha.

Weekend Story: Embracing Simplicity

Last weekend was quiet and simple. We stayed home to rest. We went out of the house to do some errands and unwind a bit. We spent time with my extended family. We took care of and were amused by Jasper our pet dog. It was kinda fun and invigorating.

I just love simple weekends. I actually don’t like making many weekend plans. I prefer going with the flow or just following where the hubby wants to go. I get excited with spontaneous trips to places I haven’t been to. But as much as possible, I want to limit my activities to going to the wet market and cooking, activities I enjoy doing most. I also enjoy cleaning up my stuff (read: decluttering) but it’s something I want to prepare for, mentally and physically, so I could give my best to it and see good results.

Weekend Story: Office Team Building at Eagle Point Resort in Anilao + Family Time in Bacoor

Last weekend came early to me and my officemates. We had our office team building on April 25-26, 2019 at Eagle Point Resort in Anilao, Mabini, Batangas. I then spent the rest of the weekend with the hubby, my SIL, and my extended family in Bacoor.

The 2D1N stay in Anilao was a good one. We swam and snorkelled, we ate and drank. We even got to rent the videoke machine at the resort and sing to our hearts’ content. Fun times!
