Weekend Story: Mother’s Day Celebration + National Elections 2016

Last weekend was great. Mame, my brother Dan, and my sister Nyam joined the hubby and I in our Bacoor home. We drove there on Saturday night and went back to Manila on Monday morning for the national elections.

The hubby and I had an impromptu Captain America movie date on Saturday noon. He said he wanted to treat me because it’s Mother’s Day the next day. Para matuwa raw ang aming angel son Pippo sa kanya. Haha. In fairness, we enjoyed our time together.

Weekend Story: More Christmas Shopping (Divisoria, S&R, and Greenhills)

Last weekend was terrific. I joined family members in doing more shopping for Christmas. Time to share our blessings with more people dear to us!

On Saturday, I was with Mame and my cousin Jun to buy some Christmas presents at Divisoria. Our feet got soaked in the rain getting in and out of 168 Mall but the trip (and the shopping) was worth it.

Weekend Story: FIL’s Birthday Celebration + Work on a Sunday

Last weekend was spent with family and then work. My FIL celebrated his birthday (he’s now 78 and still doing good!) on Saturday and I worked in the office on Sunday.

fampic
happiest birthday, Papa Noy!

Despite the hectic sched, the hubby and I still wanted to visit our house in Bacoor and we did that by spending Saturday night there. We even tagged my brother Dan and my sister Jodie along. It was easy to invite them because they had an agenda in mind. That was to check out City of Dreams because they haven’t been there yet. No gambling involved, though, just pure sight-seeing. Haha.

Weekend Story: #PippoDay 2015

It’s that time of the year again. Instead of feeling sad, we chose to feel happy. It may not be easy, but it can be done. Thanks to our family for serving as our strong support system. Remembering the third birth/death anniv of our angel son turned out to be memorable, and even fun.

Since it was a long weekend, the hubby and I made the most of our time, invidually and together. On Friday, I had a long lunch with my blogger friends at New Orleans BGC. We tried the resto’s new menu which left us so stuffed. Among the many dishes we had the opportunity to enjoy, my fave would be the Creole Shrimps, the Southern Fried Chicken Skin, and the Buffalo Chicken Wings.

Weekend Story: At Home in Manila

The hubby and I have been missing our Bacoor home already. It’s been weeks that we haven’t visited it. I don’t know if the few plants in our plant box are still alive or not. I don’t know how our lone Malunggay tree is coping to the “dry” situation (though I have a feeling it will continue to thrive).

On a related note, our office clothes are of the same set. We just wash them during weekends for use in the next work week. Sorry, TMI. I don’t know if my officemates are already noticing my clothes, but what the heck. Haha. The good news is, we are going home tonight. Wohoo!

Weekend Story: Wedding in Batangas + Typical Sunday in Manila

Last weekend was special. The hubby and I may have not been able to go home in Bacoor but we had a happy and relaxing time in Manila with my in-laws. I, for one, had the chance to witness one of the simplest yet most intimate weddings, ever.

On Saturday, I traveled all the way to Lipa City in Batangas to attend my officemate and dear friend Gerlie’s wedding. (She finally married her childhood sweetheart after a decade of being in a relationship.) The wedding ceremony was held at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Parish and the reception followed at the main hall of Mt. Malarayat Golf and Country Club. The hubby wasn’t able to join me because he was still recovering from flu then. (He’s okay now, thank God!)
