Positive Vibes

People need positive vibes. From the moment I wake up, I smile and thank God for the gift of life. I try to think of happy thoughts and feel positive. When I do that, my day becomes better. As in, always better.

But there are times when I get depressed and anxious about things. Days when I feel like my life is a mess and things are not turning into what I expect them to be. That’s when positive vibes disappear and are replaced by negative energies.

Small Goals

Last night before going to bed, I realized that goals don’t have to be big for me to work on achieving them. I could always start with small goals. For instance, instead of losing 10 lbs. a month, I could work to lose 2 lbs. in one weekend. See what I mean?

I also noticed that my big goals are too many to count. I think it would be best to limit them to say, 5 per year? I dunno yet, but I’m sure it can be done. My life is already complicated, what with the many things I want to do with limited time and resources. What more if I’m worrying about several big goals that are hard to achieve at the same time? See my point?

Inspiring Friday

It’s the last of the weekdays again, and I feel like going home in Bacoor already. I want the weekend to start right now. Haha. But then, every day is special, so I might as well spend this day productively.

I don’t know with you, but I’m quite inspired today. Or more like this day is an inspiring day. I think it’s both. I’m gonna let this day pass doing the things I love. Currently, and aside from work, that includes Facebook-ing (I used to keep my FB account unopened for days!), Candy Crush-ing (this game is very addicting, but that’s for another post), checking on my parents (they live a few steps away from work), eating (that’s a given!) and spending time with the hubby (I start and end my day engaging in a conversation with him).

Vacation Mode

Lately, I’ve been noticing that my mind wanders when I’m at work. Busy or not, it happens. It’s like I want to be in a different place, like in a beach or something. I dunno, but maybe my body wants me to stay on vacation mode as I just came from a fantastic weekend getaway in Tagaytay (see my previous post). Haha. But the nearest vacation, or summer outing to be exact, that I could have won’t happen until next week. It’s our office outing, a sort of team building activity to be held in a beach resort somewhere in Batangas.

Speaking of our office outing, I just remembered I have yet to pack my things. Good thing it’s holiday tomorrow (hello, Labor Day). Since it’s just an overnight trip, I should pack light. And I better remind myself not to bring the house with me, like I always do when packing for a 3D 2N out-of-town trip with the hubby. (The man is actually the one on vacation mode right now as their office outing started yesterday and will be ending tonight.)

Count Your Blessings

I’ve never been a complainer. Or so I believe. All my life, I’ve been appreciating whatever little I have. Instead of complaining about the things I lack in, I try to count my blessings. Of course, I get insecure and intimidated every now and then, but I never let insecurity and intimidation eat me alive. Healthy levels lang dapat lagi. Haha.

Problems and challenges are a part of life. That’s why I try to live each day with a grateful heart. Sometimes it ain’t easy. But who says life is easy or fair? How you look at things can brighten or dampen your mood. I always choose the former. I always choose to be happy. And counting my blessings always does the trick.

Another Work Week Ends

Thank God it’s Friday! As cliché as it sounds, I really like it when it’s Friday already. It means the work week ends at 5:00 pm (6:00 pm in my case!), the weekend is just several hours away, and a new adventure awaits me. The adventure could be a relaxing stay at home, a tiring but enjoyable mall trip or an impromptu road trip. Actually, it can be anything that creates happy memories and spells f-u-n.

On a different note, today is a special day in our office as it celebrates its founding anniversary. I heard there will be free packed lunch for everyone and a mass will be held this afternoon. Cool. This doesn’t happen every day so I better take advantage of it. Haha.
