Weekend Story: Two Ramen Places and Two Unexpected House Guests

Last Saturday, the hubby and I met up with our Bohol-based friend Eric and his girlfriend Joy. She stays and works in ParaƱaque and he visits her regularly and vice versa. When the hubby had a short vacay in Bohol last May, he promised Eric that he’d take him to a ramen place when he goes to Manila because he got curious about the ramen craze here. So, off we took the lovebirds to Ramen Kuroda in Aguirre, BF Homes.

I was the one who picked the place because I haven’t been to Aguirre Avenue that’s fast-becoming a popular destination for foodies. And since we would be picking them up at SM Sucat, the proximity of the two places was just perfect. We were also fortunate that when we arrived at Ramen Kuroda, the place was only starting to get packed. We were able to get a table in a jiffy. We availed of their ramen sets and it was the best decision, ever. Their ramen sets were so sulit (worth the money)! We easily got stuffed. And delightfully so because the food was good!

Weekend Pleasures

Whenever I talk about weekends on this blog, I always make it a point to share a story. Like what we did on that particular weekend, the realizations I pondered on, the stuff that made me happy, etc, etc. This post is a bit different as I’m sharing pictures of things (or people) that made my weekend extra special and fun. Let me get started now…

I finally found the time to continue reading this book about shopping. While it focuses mainly on the sellers’ perspective, I still picked up a lot on what motivates people to shop and what gravitates us to the goods sold in stores. Somehow, it made me feel good about the shopping fast I’m doing. Haha.

Weekend = Preparations

The past weekend was quite busy. The hubby and I spent it preparing his things for his short Bohol vacation with my PILs and my SIL. They actually left for Tagbilaran just this morning. As much as I wanted to join them, I can’t. I’m swamped with work and my boss specifically requested for me and my officemates not to go on leave lest we lose our job. Just kidding. But yes, we can’t go on leave until we’re finished with our three upcoming big events.

So, last Saturday, the hubby and I were at SM Bacoor so he could get some new toiletries. He even got some pet shampoos for his grandma’s dogs. Had I known it earlier, I would have bought some douxo shampoo online as they’re currently on sale. Anyway, he also bought a new pair of slippers and some new shirts.

Unexpected Long Weekend

It was an unexpected long weekend for us last weekend. May 1st was a holiday (it being Labor Day) and our work got suspended on May 2nd because our office suddenly decided to do some pest control and fumigation stuff much to our delight. Haha.

We went home in Bacoor on Wednesday night and left for Manila on Friday morning. I took advantage of that day and applied for a driver’s license at LTO-Tayuman. (Which reminds me, I have to blog about my driving journey for posterity’s sake!) The place was already packed with people when we got there at almost 7:30 a.m. (we really planned to go early to finish early).

Weekend Adventure

Last weekend, the hubby and I, along with my brother, traveled to Porac, Pampanga to check-out The Sandbox. It’s an outdoor adventure park, the first of many attractions in Alviera, a township development in Porac, Pampanga by no less than the Ayala Land group. It was a sort of “preview” of the place and its offerings before it officially opens to the public this coming April 12th.

Of course, we had so much fun! I, for instance, got to try two rides there: the Giant Swing and the UTV. I truly enjoyed both. Overall, it was a great outdoor experience that let us have fun and adventure while still communing with nature. The place is definitely far from where we live but going there just to try it wasn’t a bad idea at all.

A Packed Weekend

As much as I prefer to spend my weekends at home just cooking, baking, organizing, sleeping or doing other fun stuff, there are times when I have to go with the flow of activities my husband or his family has in mind. Like last weekend, for instance. My PILs both took a weekend-off and they decided to join us in Bacoor for the weekend. My SIL (one and only sibling of my husband) tagged along, too. It was two straight days of going out and doing things that families commonly do.

my PILs at the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Shrine

On Saturday, we traveled all the way to Antipolo to visit the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Shrine. It’s been a tradition for my PILs to go there before a scheduled trip to their province (they’re flying to Bohol on May 12 for their annual month-long vacay). After attending the morning mass, the brunch at McDo and the buying of suman and kasuy, we headed to Bacoor already. Before going to our marital home, we had a late lunch at Shakey’s first. We were too exhausted from our long trip that when we reached home, we all decided to doze off. Haha.
